Original County Guadalupe(1861-1875) County Seat - Conejos (Since 1875)
Conejos (briefly named Guadalupe) was one of the original counties. In 1874 it was split up with parts going to La Plata, Hinsdale and Rio Grande Counties. In 1885 it was split again to form Archuleta County. In 1913 a small piece was added to the new Alamosa County.
