Kit Carson County Pioneers:

John Ringer, 6 South 47 West

John proved up two quarters in section 1, 6S 47W in 191.

In 1910 Kit Carson County, George Stuart is single, 60 born in Ohio, farming.
He's next to John Ringer, 61, also single from Ohio.

John was a day laborer in Denver in 1900, born March 1849 in Ohio, married 25 years to Lavina August 1854 Ohio, with Lyeslie V. Oct 1881 Indiana and a married daughter Olive B. Spangler and her husband.
John 1849-1926 # 46824558, Lavina 1851-1920, and Lester 1881-1967 are all buried in Denver

John Ringer and Lorina E. Eisenhour married March 30, 1875 in Marshall County, Indiana.
They had Emery A. in the 1880 census, and he's likely the one buried in Denver 1876-1890 # 115946335.

So the 1910 census might be erroneous for marital status...

So John Ringer and George Stuart might have met the bare minimum of residency requirements for homesteading, and sold soon after proving up....
