Kit Carson County Pioneers:

Antonie and Cornelia (Brouwer) Eggink , 6 South 48 West

In 1871, arriving in New York on the Idaho, D. J. Eggink is 33, Mina Eskes 34, with Johan 2 and Antonne infant.
This record says all were born in Sweden.

" Dirk (spelled Derk on that record) married his first wife Mina Gerharda Eskes on 1 Nov 1867 in Vorden, Gelderland, Netherlands. His occupation is listed as klompenmaker or wooden shoemaker. Dirk and his family immigrated to the U.S. in 1871. Dirk and his wife settled in Pella, Marion, Iowa, and Mina is reported on many trees to have passed away c.1878. She's buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Pella, dying ASeptember 1878.

Tryntje Brouwer and Peter Burggraaf had a son William Burggraaf born 1873,
Dirk J. Eggink and Wilhelmina Eskes had a daughter Johanna Eggink born 1868,
Tryntje and Dirk married in 1883 after the death of their first spouses and brought their families together in Sioux County.
William Burggraaf then married Johnann Frederika Eggink
Dirk married Trynte "Katie" (Brouwer) Burggraaf on 21 March 1883 in Marion County. The blended family relocated to Sioux County in 1888. They had no known children together. Eventually, Dirk and Tryntje moved to South Dakota where Tryntje died in 1909."
"

In 1880 Pella, Iowa, A. Eggink is 11, born in Holland, sister Johanna 6 and brother W. 3 born in Iowa. They're living with aunt and uncle E. Ronwenhoot 59 and J. 46, both born in Holland.

Johanna "Anna" Frederika (Eggink) Burggraaf was the daughter of Dirk Jan Eggink and Mina Gerharda Eskes.
Many family trees state that Anna was born in the Netherlands in 1868, but that is not the case. She is first found on the 1880 Federal Census in Pella, Marion, Iowa, at the age of 6 years. She is listed as a niece and is with her brother A. (Anthonij/Anthony). He is listed as born in Holland while she and younger sister W. (who is actually Minnie) are both born in Iowa. It is probable that there was an older sister Johanna born in 1868 who died, and in the common practice of the Dutch, this Johanna inherited the name when she was born.
She migrated with her father and stepmother Tryntje (Brouwer) Burggraaf Eggink to Sioux County in about 1888.
Johanna is buried in Lyon County, Iowa # 76640039.

Antone Eggink, 23, born in the Netherlands to Dirk Jan Eggink and Marie Gredj Esrya, married Cornelia Brower 19, born at Pella, Iowa to John Brower and Akke De Boer of the Netherlands, in Sioux County, Iowa on March 28, 1894.

In 1900 Sioux County, Iowa, Antone born June 1864 in Holland, Cornelia March 1876 Iowa, with Mamie April 1895, Foppe Sept 1896, adn Cirk April 1898.
