Pieter Weststeijn was born in January 1865 in the former truck farmers village of Loosduinen, since 1923 a southwestern seaside district of the city of Den Haag (The Hague), located in the southwestern part of the Dutch southwestern province Zuid-Holland, son of Willem Gerardus Weststeijn (36 y, laborer) and Adriana Zonderwijk. Pieter was a brother of William Weststeyn, Find A Grave Memorial # 40612835.
In May 1910 Peter Weststeyn (45 y, born in Holland, immigrated in 1902, single, farmer) was living at his own farm in the area of Vona town, Kit Carson County, located in the eastern part of Colorado. In fact he was living in the small, former settlement of Elphis, located about 16 miles north and one mile west of Vona, where at least 30 Dutch immigrant families have lived once. Elphis had in the period 1926-1923 a rural post office, was abandoned about 1945 and didn't exist anymore since then. Right next to him his brother William Weststeyn (45, Holland, immigrated in 1902, farmer at his own farm too) resided with his wife Elizabeth Weststeyn (48, Holland, imm. 1902) and their sons William G[erardus] (14, Holland, 1902) and Joan E (8, Holland, 1902).
In January 1920 Peter Weststeyn (55, Holland, immigrated in 1902, single, painter) was living in Montgomery Street in Ward 2 of the city of Passaic, Passaic County, New Jersey, at the home of his niece Wilhelmina E Kukkola (19, Holland, immigrated in 1908, mill hand at a rubber mill) and her husband Otto W Kukkola (21, Massachusetts, Finnish parents, laborer at a rubber mill). The city of Passaic is located about 5 miles north of Newark and about 8 miles northwest of New York on the Passaic River and was first settled in 1678 by Dutch traders, as Acquackanonk Township. Industrial growth began in the 19th century, as Passaic became a textile and metalworking center.
But he might be her great-uncle - Wilhelmina's parents are in the same household, Dries Van Slot 47 and Marie H. 45.
One tree says Marie Weststeijn 1847-1912 is buried in the Netherlands, daughter of Willem Gerardus Westetein 1828-1871 and Adriana Zonderwijk 1823-1898.
In April 1940 Peter Weststeyn (75, single) was living in Wayne Township, Passaic County, New Jersey, at the home of his niece Catherine, with Raymond Van Noordt (36, New Jersey, engineer at a construction company). Catharine (38, Holland) and their children Marie (13, New Hampshire), Raymond (9, New Jersey) and Irving (1, New Jersey). They lived in 1935 in the same house.
Catherine was the daughter of Dries and Marie H. Vanslot. In 1920 they're in Passaid, with Elizabeth 21, Katherine E. 17, and Stephen 8.

Peter Weststeyn died very probably in Passaic County, New Jersey.
