In 1910 Kit Carson County, Edward is farming, 50 born in Missouri, married 12 years to Susie E. 42 Missouri. She's had four kids, three living. Ruby L. 9 and Allie Jane 7 were born in Missouri, Wilbur E. 3 iain Kansas.

Edward claimed a quarter in 11, 6S 50W in 1913.

In 1920 Ed 60 and Susie 52 have Allie 17 and Wilbur 14.

Edward 70 and Susie E. 61 are alone in 1930 Kit Carson County.

In 1930 Kit Carson County, William M. Gearing 37 and Ruby 29 have Lucile E. 10.

Elsie Lucille Gearing was born to Ruby Leona Hougland Gearing and William A. Gearing on April 30, 1920. Her only sibling, an infant brother Earnest Edward died at the age of 6 weeks. Her father passed away on January 3, 1945. Her mother remarried E. T. Loutzenhiser in 1947.  Ruby passed away September 8, 1962.
Lucille graduated from Flagler High School in 1939, she was well known for her basketball skills.
Lucille worked for Boeing Aircraft in Washington as a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II, and for many years at an apple packing job in East Wenatchee, Washington.
She was well thought of by her co-workers.
Lucille died December 29, 2015.

Allie Jane Houghland married Virgil B. Wise, 22 on December 17, 1922 in Flagler.

Allie is married to a railroad laborer Virgil B. Wise in 1930 Burlington. She's 27, with Kenneth 4 and Vincil 3.
In 1940 they're in Morgan County, Colorado, Virgil 40, Allie 37, Kenneth 14, Vincil 13, Velura 8, and Arland 6.

Virgil 1900-1960 is buried in Arvada, Colorado # 19448321.

So is Alice Jane 'Allie' Wise 1902-2001 # 19448336.
" Allie Jane Wise, 99, of Denver, a homemaker, died Wednesday in Wheat Ridge. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Moore Howard Berkeley Chapel, 4345 W. 46th Ave. Interment will be in Arvada Cemetery.
She was born May 28, 1902, in Bethel, Mo. On Dec. 17, 1922, she married Todd Wise in Burlington. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, First Baptist Church and Rebecca Lodge.
She is survived by a daughter, Velura Dodd, Mesa, Ariz.; three sons, Kenneth, Texas City, Texas, Vineil, Sun City, Ariz., and Arland, Arvada; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.


Susie L. (Hougland) Barnett 1868-1929 is buried in Flagler # 13485303, with Thomas Victor Barnett1874-1944.


Mason was the son of Willie Alice (Hougland) Wilson 1858-1944, and therefore the nephew of Edward Hougland.

Mason 1881-1963 is buried in Flagler # 15754480.

Funeral services for Mason Wilson, who passed away Dec. 22 were held Thursday afternoon, Dec. 26, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Kelderhouse, pastor, officiating. A quartet composed of Rhynold Fager, Ross Saffer, Merl Saffer, and Glen Saffer sang, "In the Garden" and "Good Night Here, Good Morning Up There". Mrs. Harold Amos was the organist. The sermon topic was "The Christian's Sleep" and the text was 1 Thess. 4:13 Pall bearers were Kenneth McCaffrey, Calvin McCaffrey, Robert McCaffrey, Francis McCaffrey Jr., Darrell McCaffrey and Wayne McCaffrey. Burial was in the Flagler cemetery with Walker-Love Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mason Marion Wilson was born January 7, 1881 in Bethel, MO. and departed this life on December 22, 1963, at the Nilra Nursing Home in Colorado Springs at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 16 days He was the eldest of eight children born to John Thomas and Willie Ann Wilson. He grew to manhood in Bethel, MO. and on Dec 24, 1905 was united in marriage to Vinnie Todd. The ceremony was preformed by Rev. G. W. Humphrey of Monroe City, MO.

To this union three children were born: Hazel Wilson McCaffrey of Flagler, Colorado, Bert Owen Wilson of Yuma, Colorado, and Harold Basil of Bates City, MO. While in his early teens mason made a decision for Christ, was baptized and united with the Shiloh Baptist Church in Shelby Co., MO. at the time when Rev. Jones was the pastor. Upon moving to Colorado, Mason helped to organize the Shiloh Baptist north of Flagler, and became one of the charter members of the church. Mason was a devoted church member and served the church as Sunday School superentendant and as trustee for a number of years. In 1906 Mason and his wife moved to Norcatur, Kansas and in 1908 they left KS. to homestead north of Seibert, CO. In 1943 they left the homestead and moved into the town of Flagler.

He is survived by his loving wife, three children, five grandchildren, seven step grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and 14 step great grandchildren, also two sisters, Lillie Chessie Miller of Monroe City, MO., and Lucy Ross of Center, Mo., two brothers, Jody Welcome Wilson of Canton, MO., and Henry Edward Wilson of Hannibal, MO., and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mason and Vinnie left Missouri in a covered wagon, with a cow tied behind. They settled in Kansas for a short while then on to Flagler, Colorado, where they homesteaded and build a sod house. They lived the rest of their lives in Kit Carson County, Colorado. This little bit of data, from the memory of Gladys Lee Miller Berlin, story told to her by her mother Chessie Wilson Miller, sister to Mason. 


Lloyd N. Lewis of Denver, a former heavy-machine operator, died Nov. 23, 1999 at Western Hills Health Care Center. He was 96.
Services were Nov. 26 at the Crown Hill Tower of Memories Chapel. Entombment was in the Crown Hill Tower of Memories. He was born Nov. 22, 1903, in Danbury, Neb. On Dec. 24, 1925, he married Lottie Lorraine Shulda in Flagler. He is survived by his wife; a son, Richard, Wheat Ridge; a sister, Beth Hougland, Phoenix; and a granddaughter. "
