Charles A. South , 8 South 49 West

Charles cash-claimed a quarter in 15, 8S 49W in 1891. He had two other records in BLM, both in 9S 50W, but apparently they weren't completed.

He might be the Charley South in 1880 Boone County Indiana, 13, with parents Daniel M. and Terressa E. south. Harry is 15, Oraland E. 12, Estella 6, Blanch 4, and Ottis E. 1.
Another possible is the Charles L South in 1880 White County, Illinois, 13, with parents William H. and Lucy A. both 39. Della J. is 4, David M. is 6, and Victor H. is 2.

In 1910 Yell County, Arkansas, Charley L. South is 43, married nine years to Alice M. , 39, both born in Illinois.
In 1920 Franklin County, Illinois, Charles is a working in a saw mill, 53, with Alice 50.
Charles L. South, per # 32282846, is buried in Franklin County 1866-1922, dying of influenza.

One Franklin County, Illinois researcher says "Alice Adams / C. L. SOUTH 1867-1922
