SCHOOLS - Past and Present

ARRIBA (or Ariba)

Sunny Slope School started in 1888 near Arriba. It was the first school to receive county funds to hire a teacher. In 1959 the Arriba RE-31 School District was formed. It later joined with the FLAGLER School District in Kit Carson County.
Today's Arriba-Flagler C-20 School District has the Flagler Elementary School and Flagler Junior-Senior High School, both located in Flagler in Kit Carson County. District website at http://arriba-flaglercsd20.net/


BOVINA

A school near Bovina started in 1889.

 

GENOA

A school near Genoa was started in 1889. In 1959, the Genoa RE-13 School District. was formed. Part of present day Genoa-Hugo C-113 School District.

HUGO, County Seat

First school district was organized in 1874 as "District 7" in Hugo, then Elbert County. In 1959, the Hugo RE-1 School District was formed.

Present-day Genoa-Hugo C-113 District includes Genoa-Hugo Elementary and Genoa-Hugo Middle-Senior High School. District website: http://genoa.dreamteamtech.com/


KARVAL -

In 1959, the Karval RE-23 School District was formed. Present-day Karval RE-23 includes the Karval Elementary School and Karval Junior-Senior High School,

LIMON
