Emma might have come to Holyoke because her twin sister Mary (Andrew) Wilcox and her husband George Wilcox.
George is buried in Holyoke 1857-1938 # 24312027.
"A native of Pennsylvania, George Wilcox first settled in Minden, Nebraska. There he met and married Mary Ana Andrews in 1884.
George and Mary traveled to Colorado in 1886, after learning of the homestead opportunities. They claimed land in Phillips County, but registered the claim in Sterling, as Holyoke did not yet exist. George built his farmhouse from materials hauled from Julesburg.
(October 1887 Holyoke "Geo. Wilcox has moved his blackhmith shop to town.") When the town of Holyoke was built, George opened the first blacksmith shop in the town. During the disaster years involving the drought, blizzards, grasshoppers, prairie fires, and the Depression, that George barely managed to keep his farm and his business.

"Mrs. M. L. Coatney died at the family home six miles northeast of Holyoke Saturday at the age of 63 years, death being caused by cancer of the breast. Mrs. Coatney, had long been a suffer from the disease and had seen several specialists throughout the country in the hope of obtaining relief. Only a short time ago she had returned from a medical institution in Missouri.
Mrs. Coatney was one of the oldest settlers in the county, coming here among the first homesteaders.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Bruce and Luther, and several brothers and sisters, only one of whom, Mrs. George Wilcox, lives here.
The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon in charge of Rev. Cecil M. Bear. The remains were laid at rest in the Holyoke cemetery. "

July 15, 1937 Holyoke Enterprise "Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Colver Funeral Home here for Michael Luther Coatney, aged 72, who died Monday at his home northeast of Holyoke. He had been in ill health for several years since he suffered a paralytic stroke. Rev. J.G. Bell, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiated at the funeral, and burial was made in the Holyoke cemetery.
Mr. Coatney was born March 22, 1865, at Centreville, Iowa, and came to Nebraska with his parents in 1879. After residing there for several years, he came to Phillips County, Colorado, where he homesteaded and made his home the remainder of his life.
Mr. Coatney was the youngest of ten children, all of the others preceding him in death.
He was married to Miss Emma Andrews in 1886.
Surviving Mr. Coatney are two sons, Luther A. and Robert Bruce, four grandsons, and a large number of nieces and nephews. His wife died many years ago. "
1941 Holyoke Colorado "Funeral services for Dewey C. Lindgren, 41, farmer of the Fairfield community who was killed instantly in a truck accident Friday evening near Holyoke, were conducted Monday afternoon at Fairfield.
With Mr. Lindgren at the time of the accident, were Bruce and Luther Coatney. Both were pinned in the overturned truck. The former suffered two fractured ribs and minor bruises, while Luther Coatney was uninjured except for minor bodily bruises. Both received treatment at the Holyoke hospital. "
ROBERT BRUCE
Robert married Elsie Cafernia (Carpenter) 1910-1956. One tree said she died in Tempe, Arizona.
One tree said they had Byron R. Coatney 1934-2008 and Jack Dennis Coatney 1938-1979.
Robert, born November 15, 1899 in Colorado, died March 10, 1963 in Mendocino County, California.
He's buried in Laytonville, California # 28779100. In the same cemetery is Byron Richard Coatney 1935-2008 # 153847302.
LUTHER
"Luther Alfred Coatney Jr., 81, Harrisonville, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at his home.
He was born April 22, 1923, in Holyoke, Colo., the son of Luther A. and Elizabeth (Carlock) Coatney Sr.
On April 25, 1948, he married Twila Nadine Ehrlick in Julesburg, Colo.
Mr. Coatney was a WWII Army veteran. He had been employed with IML Truck Lines, retiring in 1985. He managed the Red Onion Restaurant in Harrisonville for many years.
He was a member of the Harrisonville VFW and was a former member of the Teamsters Local 41.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Twila, Feb. 7, 2003; a son, Michael J. Coatney; a daughter, Denise M. Coatney; and a grandson, Marc Holfsted.
Surviving are five daughters, Twilalou Coatney, Thornton, Colo., Beth Lakomy, Urich, Pam Lacy, Adrian, Marsha Brelsford, Harrisonville, and Lavaun Hartland, London, Ontario; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. "
