Minnie M. Garrett died May 28, 1925 in Yellowstone County.
"Mrs. Minnie May Garrett, wife of Charles Y. Garrett of the Hedden department store, died Thursday afternoon at her home, 903 North Thirty-first street. Cancer was the cause of death. The body will be taken Friday evening to Macomb, Ill., Mrs. Garrett's childhood home.
Services will be held Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Settergren funeral home, the Rev. W. Holt Smith of the First Baptist church officiating.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Garrett is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A. R. Blair and Mrs. Georgia Usher; a granddaughter, Eieanor Usher, and a brother, Orvil H. Farley, of Indiana."

Charles Y. Garrett, widowed in 1930 in Los Angeles with daughter Eleanor, died Dec 4, 1939 in Yellowstone County.

"A heart attack brought death of Charles Yates Garrett. 78-year-old Billings man, at the home of his daughter. Mrs. A. R. Blair of 814 North Thirty-second street, late Monday, December 4, 1939. He had been suffering from a heart ailment for about a year and had just recently recovered from an attack of influenza. He collapsed a few minutes after returning from lodge meeting and died before a physician could arrive. Mr. Garrett had made his home with his son-in-law and daughter for the last five years. Born and raised in Macomb, I11., son of Mr. and Mrs. Loven Garrett, Mr. Garrett was engaged in the grocery business there for a number of years. In 1885 he married Miss Minnie Farley at Macomb. The couple resided in Friend, Neb., where Mr. Garrett owned a grocery store for several years and then returned to Macomb. In 1914 they moved to Montana and settled on a homestead north of Myers. In 1917 tney came to Billings, where Mr. Garrett was employed by the Hedden's Dry Goods company and by the J. C. Penney company.
Mrs. Garrett died here in 1925. A short time later Mr. Garrett retired and moved to Los Angeles, Cal. Five years ago he returned to Billings.
Besides Mrs. Blair, he is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Georgia Usher of Los Angeles; a brother, G. R. Garrett of New York City; a sister, Mrs. Elsie F. Harris of Macomb, and a granddaughter, Mrs. E. S. Deanng of Los Angeles.
Funeral services will be held at the Settergren funeral chapel at 3 p. m. Wednesday. The body will he taken to Macomb for burial. "

July 23, 1950 "Mrs. Nellie G. Blair, 64, died Saturday at 4:20 a.m. in a Billings hospital. She had been taken Friday to the hospital from her home, 814 North Thirty-second street. She was born Dec. 12, 1885, at Friend, Neb., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Y. Garrett, and moved with her parents to Macomb, I11., where she spent her childhood. Mrs. Blair was married at Galesburg, I11., Jan. 22, 1908, to A. R. Blair. The couple moved to Sterling, Colo., in 1910 and to Billings in 1920. The widower is a retired post office employe. She was a member of Friendship chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and of Colonel Robert Bruce Wallace auxiliary No. 7, United Spanish War Veterans. She also was a member of the Christian Science church.
Surviving are the widower and a sister, Mrs. Georgia Usher of Los Angeles. The body will be taken Sunday morning from Settergren's funeral home to Macomb for services and burial in the family plot Tuesday."
