"Funeral services for Emil G. Roper, 81, who died August 15, 1963, were held at Martin Chapel in Grand Junction on Aug. 18. Additional services were conducted at the graveside in Clover Cemetery at Collbran, Colorado.
A retired harness maker, Mr. Roper had lived in Collbran since 1942. He had moved there from Steamboat Springs, where the family had lived since 1915. He was born at Fowlerville, Mich., Oct. 25, 1881, but had spent his childhood in Nebraska. He was married at Broken Bow, Nebr., Jan. 1, 1913, to Lena Pearl Dewey.
He is survived by his wife; a son Ivan of Collbran ; five daughters, Mrs. David Tofoya of Durango, Mrs. Sidney Pugh of Craig, Mrs. Joe Wheeler of Gallup, New Mexico, Mrs. Lenabelle Douglas of Grand Junction and Mrs. David Shaw of Denver; a sister, Mrs. Glen Root of Grand Junction; two brothers, Arthur of Grand Junction and Thomas of Steamboat Springs; 18 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren."
