"Funeral for Sidney I. ‘Sid' Davis, 60, will be Tuesday. Mr. Davis died Friday.
Services will be at 2 p.m. from the Chaney-Walters Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Youtz officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Davis was born Aug. 29, 1919, in Sterling, a son of Ira M. and Ruth B. Moore Davis.
As a child, he lived north and west of the North Sterling Reservoir and attended grade school in that area, later attending Sterling High School.
He married Wilma 'Billie' Monroe in Sterling on Sept. 29, 1940 and they moved to the Crook area where they farmed until 1975, when he retired because of his health. They moved into Sterling, living at 631 Elwood.
He was a member of the First Evangelical Church.
Survivors include his widow, a son, Charles I. Davis, Hillsboro, Ore.; a daughter, Betty Jo Carwin, Greeley; a brother, Lyle Davis, Tickfaw, La.; and six grandchildren."

This is the second child Mr. and Mrs. Davis havo welcomed to their hearts and home within a year and may they prove the comfort and blessing those estimable people are entitled to for such a commendable act."
"The infant daughter of Mrs. Margaret DeCordova, who died from the effects of Spanish influenza at her home in Sterling on November 19. has been taken for adoption by a sister of Mrs. DeCordova. Before the relatives were heard from, the child was taken by Mr. and Mrs. I. M. Davis of near Padroni, who were ready to adopt the child if it were not claimed by relatives. January 1920 "Mrs. I. M. Davis and children moved to Sterling Monday and will reside there for tho next six weeks while Mr. Davis is engaged in tho hay baling business."
