February 1919 "Information to be obtained from one's relatives or friends in Germany is meager, William and L. C. Giacomini have learned, but they were delighted to obtain last Tuesday even a word indirectly from a brother, Franklin Giacomini, who has been in Berlin during the war period.
"In good health" was the message that came to the brothers of Mr. Giacomini here, through the Spanish ambassador at Berlin and the state department of the United States. This is the first word they have had from their brother for thirteen months and at that time only a brief message through the same channel was had. It has been two years since a letter came directly from him. Giacomini went to Berlin after receiving his degree at Harvard University, to pursue his research studies in science. When war was declared he remained there. Naturally, his brothers have felt anxiety for his safety. The message received on Tuesday came from the department of state in Washington. Congressman Timberlake has been endeavoring to obtain information through the Red Cross, but such information, it is anticipated, would also be only a sentence."

THOMAS
April 14, 1909 "Thomas Giacomini arrived in Sterling last Wednesday from seven months spent mid scenes of his youth at Villa di Chiavenna, Lombardia, Itaiy. And he came not alone, having on the eve of his departure for his home in this country been united in marriage to Miss Jennie Tam of that place, the marriage occurring March 23. Mr. Giacomini's bride, whom he had known in his boyhood days, is a niece of Mrs. A. Giacomini of Sterling, and a cousin of Mrs. W. B. Giacomini; she also has other cousins here.
Mr. Thomas Giacomini had not been to his mother's home since coming to this country fourteen years ago and he found many changes there. His father died several years ago and as the estate had never been settled the trip from which he has just returned was partly to adjust matters in that connection. The winter there, Mr. Giacomini says, was delightfully mild and added to the enjoyableness of his visit.
The Giacomini estate lays on the border of Switzerland, some of the property being in that country. The farms there are small, generally, and intensive cultivation is practiced. The growing season is about like our's here and about everything is grown there that is grown in this country. Wages are much higher there now than formerly and the cost of living has increased in proportion. Land is measured by the meter (about a yard) and is worth $l50 an acre counted in United States money.
Mr. and Mrs. Giacomin left Lombardia on March 24, sailing on the 27th and reaching New York on April 3. They traveled fifteen days altogether in reaching Sterling. Going over Mr. Giacomini said only thirteen days wore required to make the trip. Mr. and Mrs. Giacomini will either build and make their home in Sterling or reside on the ranch."

But Vince has managed to maintain .a high scholastic record throughout. He is a perennial first-honors man. He belongs to lots of organizations—so many, in fact, he can’t keep track of them all. Vince is shy, altruistic, and has a bilious temperament. Is over six feet, blond in spite of the name, and likes a nice game of tennis. His handsome physiognomy causes many hearts to flutter —but Vince remains indifferent. He hopes to get a bachelor of science degree. He has held the office of editor-in-chief of the Brown & Gold and is still on the editorial staff. Hobby: Playing classical music on the piano and going to musical concerts. "
