Ligget and wife, Mr. Covert and daughter Nellie, Mr. and Mr6. C. Allendorf, Mrs. Geo. M. Elwood, Mrs. M. C. Daffron, and others. All wish Mr. Ferrier many happy returns of the day."

May 18, 1906 "Henry W. Whitehead, a former resident of Salida and Monarch, died of pneumonia at his home in Victor last Sunday. The remains were shipped to Salida and buried Wednesday by the Odd Follows of which he was a member.
Mr. Whitehead was an old resident of this section and is well known by the old timers in Salida aud Monarch. He has followed mining during the past few years aud had some valuable property in Cripple Creek.
The remains were interred in Woodland cemetery beside those of his wife who died in Salida a number of years ago."

August 1911 " Little George Moore of Iliff who has been visiting his grandmother, Mrs. M. C. Whitehead, for several days fell off the porch last night and broke his arm. The injured member was set and the little fellow was doing nicely. He is the son of Tom Moore of Iliff."
October 1911 "Mrs. M. C. Whitehead received word that a new boy arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Roberts at Scotts Bluff. Nebraska, October 10. Mr. Roberts is superintendent of the light plant at Scotts Bluff. Mrs. Roberts is the daughter of Mrs. Whitehead."
January 1913 "Mrs. M. C. Whitehead, who has been nursing some special cases in Sterling, returned to her home at Iliff today."
February 1919 "Hans Knutson disposed of his half section of land five miles southwest of Stoneham last week for a cash consideration of fifty dollars per acre to Mr. Whitehead, who was called here early in the winter by the serious illness of his son, Harvey Whitehead. This sale is one of the many indications of the prosperity of tho Stoneham Country."

Evelyn May Daffron Peterson, 91, passed away at her home in Clearfield October 7, 2008.
She was born May 10, 1917 in Colorado, to Guy and Alta Daffron. She spent her early childhood in Iliff, where she often rode in the sidecar of her mother's motorcycle, as news was gathered for the Iliff Independent, a newspaper edited by her father.
She was at a performance of Gates Flying Circus where Charles Lindbergh performed, and inspired, her father to purchase an airship of his own. Her family then went into "barnstorming" and selling rides in her parent's "Jennie" airplane on the weekends.
She graduated from Sterling High School and during the war, worked in the Denver munitions factory. She married Faris Peterson and in 1955 they took their family to Guam, so Faris could teach in the elementary school on the island. It was there that Evelyn, a new convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was called upon to organize the first primary in the Southern Far East Mission. She worked countless hours gathering her genealogy and spent many loving years doing extraction work. She was loved and will be missed.
Her children: the late David Peterson of Angel City, Philippines; Janice Shurtliff (Don) Palm Desert, California; Faris "Jay" Peterson (Tere) Tracy, California; Martin Peterson (Louise) Brigham City, Utah; Randy Peterson (Ranee) Ogden, Utah; Teri Burns (Steven) Bountiful, Utah; 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clearfield 6th Ward, 220 West 975 North, Sunset, Utah. Family and friends may gather on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
