He had started a Timber claim in that township, but it wasn't completed.
Possibly the Charles J. Barnes, age 34, who married Minnie Whitaker, age 20, in Larimer County Colorado on December 21, 1890.
The ceremony was performed by minister George Lobinger of Loveland, Colorado.
Charles had been with his parents in Boulder County in 1880, farming, 23. Parents J. B. 53 adn Adelia 53. W.W is 27, Albert and Alice both 11.
They had three daughters, and divorced in Larimer County in 1904.
Minnie married Otto Scheerer and had another child.
C.J. Barnes is in Longmont, Colorado in 1920, with brother A. M. (Albert) 50 born in Missouri and his wife E.C. 42 born in Iowa. A.M. has four kids. There's another sister-in-law N. W. Barnes 63 widowed born in Indiana in the household.
In 1930 Larimer County, Charles is 73, widowed, born in Pennsylvania, a caretaker at a grocery. He's living with daughter Le'Etta M. Marshall38, her husband Luke Marshall
who runs a service station. Le'Ette has four kids Glen 17, Lee 15, Rhea 9,
and Merle 8.
Charles J. Barnes married Ida Hardin on April 29, 1936, in Lafayette, Boulder County.
In 1940 Charles "S." Barnes 82 and Ida Mae 71 born in Missouri are in Longmont.
There is no evidence to prove or disprove that the Logan County claimant is the Larimer County one, but the 1890 dates sure could fit with the marriage - occuring after proving up and selling a claim.
