In 1900 Spink County, South Dakota, Willis, born August 1859 in Wisconsin, married 14 years to Mattie April 1868 Iowa, have Jesse Nov 1887, Frank August 1889, Nila Nov 1892, and Ella January 1895, all kids born in South Dakota.

In 1910 Thurston County, Nebraska, Willis is 51, Mattie 48, Jessy 22, Frank 20, Nila 16, and Ella 13. May MdGhee, niece 7, born in South Dakota is with them. Next househol dis William McGheee 70 and Sarah 61, with son Ernest 20 born in South Dakota.

There was an Ella Horning who married Clem Flaherty on April 21, 1924, recorded in Yuma County, Colorado.
Clement Flaherty was in Sterling in 1920, 14, born in Iowa, with M. J. 46 and Mame 45 and their other nine kids.
He's in Portland, Oregon in 1930, 24, single, with brother John 27 and his familly.

In 1940 Portland, Clement is married to Eleanor 33, with Terrence 6 and Ronald J. 4, both boys born in Oregon.

Clement born at Corinth, Iowa, age 50, divorced in 1953 Portland, married Mary E. Colliton in Portland on March 17, 1956.
Clement Bernard Flaherty 1905-1965 is buried in Portland # 165326598.

Ruth M. Flaherty, 85, of Bend, Oregon, died Feb. 14, 2013, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Her son, Jim, and daughter-in-law, Betty, were with her.
At her request there will be no service.
Ruth was born on Feb. 23, 1927, in Sterling, Colo. She married Earl Flaherty in 1946 and they moved to Oregon. Together they raised a family of five. She lived in Westfall, where they managed the old Becker ranch from 1952 until 1960.
She moved to Burley, Idaho, where the family farmed potatoes until 1963 when they returned to ranching in Hereford. In 1985, she and Earl move to Umatilla. In Umatilla, she assisted at the local grade school as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching assistant.
After her husband died she moved to Bend to be closer to family.
Ruth was artistic and loved to draw. She also enjoyed bowling and her bunco club. She was happiest when she was with family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Jim and Betty Flaherty of Bend, MaryBeth and Ray Cornell of Burns, Mike and Dawnel Flaherty of Parma, Idaho, Barbara Sanders of The Dalles; her son-in-law, Clinton Tarvin of La Grande; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; her daughter, Kathleen; and her brother, Vern.

Jess Horning married "Varna" Cossey on October 14, 1919, recorded in Logan County.

In 1920 Logan County, Jess V. Horning is farming 35, with Verna 26 born in Iowa. His father Willis 60 and mother Mattie 55 are with him. So is sister Ella V. OLSON 23, widowed, with Emmet 5 and Neva 3.

In 1930 Washington County, Colorado, Jess is farming 52, with Verna 47. Nephew Emmet Olson is with him, 26, born in Nebraska.

Verna Horning is one of the signatures on a 1932 quilt from northern WSashington County. Elsie Ross is also on it, with a 1933 date.

Ella Horning, age 27, married Lawrence Kubal of Hutchinson County, South Dakota, in Douglas County, South Dakota on Juen 20, 1928.

Ella V. (Horning) Kubal 1899-1964 is buried in Sterling # 55451241.

Neva L. Worthley 1916-2008 is buried in Sterling # 57248485, with Leo W. WOrthley 1914-1996.
Emmet Vernon Olson 1914-1981 is buried in Fort Morgan # 16083304.

Nila A. (Horning) Farm claimed 320 acres in sections 26 and 35, 7N 52W in 1920.

In 1920 Logan County, Colorado, Nila, 26, is married to Andrew J. Farm, 37. Bernice is 3. Her granfateer William McGee 78 is with them.

In 1930 Fresno, California, Andrew J. is 47, Nila A. 36, Bernice I. 13, Marine V. 9, Ivan D. 8, Nona R. 5,a nd Lee J. seven months.
In 1940 Fresno, California, John is 59, Nila 46, Ivan 18, Elaine 15, Nora 12, and Lue 10.

Nila A. Farm 1893-1961 is buried in West Salem Oregon # 125969964,
September 29, 1961 "Mia A. Farm At the residence Rt. 1 Box 924, Salem, Sept. 27th.
Survived by sons Lee Farm, Salem; Ivan Farm, Rickreall,
daughters. Mrs. Maxine Kelly. Shelton. Wash; Mrs. Elaine Griffith, Yuba City, Calif; Mrs. Nona Gladish, Tyler, Tex;
sister. Mrs. Ella Kubal Colo. Eighteen grand children, 1 great-grandchild, & several nieces and nephews also survive. Services Sat. Sept. 30th at 3:30 PM at the Virgil T. Golden Chapel. Services will be conducted by a Christian Scientist."

He's buried in Sterling 1887-1947 # 56956054.
