" Patricia Ann (Hafeman) Henry died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016 in Tucson, Ariz.
Patricia, generally known as Pat, was born Jan. 22, 1934 at St. Rose Hospital, Great Bend, Kan., and was welcomed home at the Hafeman farm, five miles Northwest of Beaver, Kan., by her three Sisters and two Brothers.
Pat attended local grade schools and graduated from Sacred Heart, a private Girls High School in Wichita, Kan. Pat attended St. Mary of The Plains College, Dodge City, Kan. for one year before enrolling in nurse’s training at St. Joseph’s, Wichita, Kan.
Pat accepted employment as a registered nurse at Phelps-Dodge Copper Company following her graduation from a three year course in nurse’s training. While employed at Phelps-Dodge, she met her husband-to-be, Peter Henry. Their marriage later failed.
Following her Phelps-Dodge employment, Pat was employed by the Veterans Administration in Tuscon, Ariz., where she remained until her retirement
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, William J. and Ann M. Hafeman; an older brother, Gerald, who died at four years of age; and by her three sisters: Marjorie Beddow Dilley, Geraldine Purma and Donna Hill Consoli.
Pat is survived by her two brothers, Gene Hafeman of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Bill Hafeman of Sun City West, Ariz.
Patricia was cremated and her ashes will be interred in the family plot at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Dubuque, Kan."

Her husband Edward F. Flavin, born July 2, 1870 in Michigan, died November 1, 1948 in Los Angeles.

They had Arthur Henry Hafeman in Atwood on March 26, 1919.

In 1920, John is farming, 36, Kate M. 32, Sara M. 5 born in Kansas, George B. 3 in Wisconsin, and Arthur H. 7 in Colorado.




Lewis Smith's neighbors were on the west Morton C. Cowee, on the north Fred John Sanders (also in 1917), John Hafeman and Louis Freimuth on the east, and Frank Propst on the south.

In 1930 Logan County, John is farming, 46, with Catherine 42. Sarah M. is 15, George 14, Arthur 11, Norbert 8, and Juletta 6. Catherine's parents Lewis Freimuth 80 and Sarah 73 are with them, both born in Wisconsin.

In 1940 Logan County - Fleming precinct, John is 57, Catherine 52, Norbert 18, Juletta 16, and Lawrence 8.


John "Haffman" (the spelling on the tombstone) 1883-1972 is buried in Sterling # 56996985, with Catherine 1888-1972 # 56996988.

So are Catherine's father Louis David Freimuth 1848-1939 # 57322262 and her mother Sarah 1856-1938 # 57990915.

Louis D. Freimuth had proved up two quarters in sections 29, 30, and 31, 6N 52W in 1920, and another 80 acres in sections 29 and 31 for Stock, also in 1920.

George B. Hafeman 1916-2005, dying in Columbia County, Oregon, is buried in Willamette National # 36269588., with Phyllis L. 1922-2001.

ARTHUR

Arthur 1919-1989 is buried in Kimball, Nebraska # 84363660, with Kathryn M. (Schinzel) Hafeman 1928-2014
"Kathryn 'Kay' Hafeman was the first born to Frank and Regina Schinzel on Feb. 5, 1928 in Kearney. Kay graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Sidney in 1944. She moved to Kimball to work for the Fred Lukassen family the next year. She married Arthur Henry Hafeman Nov. 19th, 1946. They farmed on the south divide in Kimball County for over 50 years and were very active in the Kimball community."

Julitta Hafeman married Jimmie D. Boren on November 1i0, 1945 in Logan County.

September 27, 1977 "A 24-year-old Fort Collins woman died Monday night from injuries suffered in a two-car accident in Sterling Sunday evening. Jennifer Eichinger was the third person to die following the head-on collision, and another Fort Collins woman, Larrain M. Ackalson, 22, is listed in guarded condition in the intensive care unit in Logan County Hospital. State Patrol said two Sterling men, Anthony Bordovsky, 45, and Jack W. Boren, 27, died at the scene when the car they were riding drifted into the westbound lane of Colorado 14 and collided with Miss Ackalson's vehicle. "

I looked at several locations throughout Denver and Colorado Springs, but when I came to Windsor, I enjoyed the ambiance of this small community along with Windsor Lake. My father grew up in Sterling where my Aunt Julitta Boren still lives along with my cousins Dennis and Cyndee Boren. Interestingly, I found my cousin, Gregg Hafeman and his wife, Lindy, live here, and my aunt, Kay Hafeman, lives at the Good Samaritan senior living resort. "

"Julitta Catherine Boren, 92, of Sterling passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Sterling. Visitation will be from 1 pm to 6 pm Wednesday, March 8 at Tennant Funeral Home. Vigil and Rosary services will follow at 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Thursday, March 9 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Michael Bodzioch celebrating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Julitta was born on March 29, 1924 in Fleming to John and Catherine (Friemuth) Hafeman. She attended school in Fleming and graduated from there in 1942. She then attended college at Central Commercial Business College in Denver. During WW II, she worked at the Sioux Ordinance Depot in Sidney, NE. It was there that she was introduced to her future husband by her older brother, George. She married Jimmie D. Boren on November 10, 1945 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Sterling.
After she was married, she worked odd jobs and was a mother and homemaker. Following her husband, Jim's death, Julitta worked from 1982-86 in the dietary department at Sterling Regional Medical Center. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, a charter member of the Legion of Mary, a member of the Mother Cabrini Circle, and worked on the funeral dinner committee. Julitta loved to play cards, was known for being a terrific baker and was a gracious hostess in her neighborhood and community.
Julitta is survived by her children and their families, brother, sister-in-law, 32 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim; son Jack; daughter Janice Vye; her parents; and brothers Arthur Hafeman, George Hafeman and Norbert Hafeman; and sister Sarah Armstrong."
