Charles W. Bruegmann, August J. Bruegmann, Fleming
 




Charles cash-claimed a quarter in 18, 8N 49W in 1891.


Charles August Bruegmann was born April 21, 1892 ?? at Steplehurst, Nebraska to Charles W. Bruegmann and Hannah Ehlers.

In 1900 Omaha, August J. Brugmann is an expressman, born Oct 1861 in Pennsylvania, married one year to Maria Nov 1872 Michigan. August H. Oct 1884 Missouri, George L. March 1889 Colorado, and Ferdnand, Myra's son Oct 1879 Illinois.
His mother Louisa May 1835 Germany is with them.

In 1910 Omaha, Nebraska, C.W. Bruegmann is a carpenter, 50 widowed, born in Canada. With him is Louisa, mother widowed - AGE 40 BUT MUST BE 70 - married 30 years, born in Germany. Charles A. is 23, a plater in a railroad shop.

Possibly he married Hannah Ehlers, who was born about 1868 in Germany, according to the 1880 census of Seward County. Charles is 43, Matilda 23, Betty 14, Hannah 12 all born in Germany, with Mela 2 and Amanda newborn born in Nebraska.

On the same page is A.J. Brugemann 48, second marriage of 12 years to Myra. August H. 25 was born in Missouri, George L. 21 Colorado.

In 1920 Omaha, Charles W. 61, widowed, is a house painter, born in Canada. Charles is 30, a railroad switchman. They're living with Charles W.'s daughter Dorothy Reno 27 born in Colorado, married to Lee W. 26, a streetcar conductor, and their son Jack 11 born in Nebraska.

In 1930 Chicago, Charles A. is 42, a railroad switchman, married at age 29 but no spouse, and Charles W. 71 has no occupation.

Charles W. Bruegmann died March 19, 1939 in Cook County, Illinois.
He was born December 29, 1858 in Ontario, Canada, buried at Mt. Hope. His father was Carl R. Bruegman. Charles was widowed, spouse Joanna.
The informant was Charles A. Bruegmann.

Charles 1887-1959 is buried in Elmhurst, Illinois # 162018353

September 17, 1959 "We are sincerely grateful to all who came to our aid during our recent sudden bereavement of Charles Bruegmann and take this means to thank everyone for their many acts of kindness. Dorothy Reno, Jack & Doris."
Mrs. Reno signed the application for a veteran headstone.


DOROTHY
In 1910 Seward, Nebraska, John W. Welch is a carpenter, living on Lincoln Street, with Dorothy, both 21. He was born in Nebraska, she was born in Colorado, married three years, with John H. 2, born in Nebraska. On the same page is Edward Welch, 40, and his large family, also a carpenter.
John Welch, son of John and Catharine Welch, age 28, married Margie Emma Walker , age 23, in Fort Dodge, Webster County Iowa on June 24, 1916. Her parents wee Clarence Walker and Eva Betz.
John Harrison Welch registered for WWI in Gilmore City, Iowa, born at Seward Nebraska May 12, 1887, with a wife and two children.
In 1920 John H. is 31, in Seward, Nebraska, with Margie 26. They have Eviline 3 born in Iowa.
They moved to Texas, and are buried in Arlington Texas, John dying in 1953.
In 1940 Dallas, Texas, Jack is 52, a broom maker, with Margie 46, Jack Leroy 16, and Clarence 14.
John registered for WWII in Grand Prairie Texas, with reference Mrs. Thelma Mae Matthews of Grand Prairie.


"Leno" W. Reno born July 1893 in Nebraska was with grandparents in 1910 Rio Blanco County, Colorado, and "Lee" was with them (William and Mary Manice) in 1900 Decatur County, Kansas. In 1900 Mary J. Reno born June 1891 in Nebraska, father in Canada, mother in Ireland is with them.
Mary's father was James Reno, mother Mary Manice, when she married F.E. Noble April 12, 1911 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
In 1920 Omaha, Frederick E. Noble is 48, born in Illinois, Mary 28 Nebaska, Evenlyn M. 6 Nebraska, and Charles W. 3 Nebarska.
Dorothy and John Welch may have split 1910-1917.

Lee W. Reno married Dorothy Welch, both 23, in Omaha April 1917.

JOHN "Jack"
In 1930 Jack is in Omaha, married to Doris, both 23, with Jack Jr. newborn, living with Doris's parents Francis and Mary White.

Jack H. Welch 1930-1934 is buried in Omaha # 27098702.

John and Doris are alone in 1940 Denver - in Omaha in 1935.
He's a restaurant cook, she's a sales lady.
living on 12th Street.

In 1945 Denver, John H. is working at GR Co, with Doris A. living at 2651 Greape.

They're at 2651 Grape in 1947, but no occupation listed for John. Doris is a buyer for DDG Co (Denver Dry Goods department store)

Doris A. White, 4, is probably in Garfield County, Oklahoma in 1910, daughter of a minister Francis S. White 43 and Mary M. 39. John is 21, Doria 4, and Lois 13.

Charles A. Bruegmann was living in Kearney,County, Nebraska, Eaton Township in 1890.
He was a sergeant in the 26th Wisconsin Infantry, from July 1862 to October 1864.
In 1914 Omaha, August J. Bruegmann and Charles W. Bruegmann are both janitors at the Omaha National Bank Building, living at 1910 S. 8th.
Charles A. is also listed there, and Louisa M. (Widow Chas A. ) boards at that address.

George Bruegmann registered for WWI in Omaha, born March 31, 1889 at Fleming, Colorado, a collector for American Express, with a wife.

In 1914 George E. Bruegman is a driver, living at 829 S. 24th.

In 1918 Omaha, Myra H. Bruegmann, 43, married George F. Jackson, 42.

August J. Bruegmann married Louisa Behrend June 7, 1883 in St. Louis Missouri.

August married Myra Rushlan in Council Bluffs, Iowa, April 25, 1900.
His parents were C. Bruegman and L. Kralgat, hers were Joseph Rushlau and M. Jambo.
In 1910 A.J. 48 and Myra 37 are in Omaha, with August H. 25 and Geo L. 21.

In 1920 Seattle, there's an August H. Bruegmann, divorced, 35, born in Missouri.
