Possibly the James H. Scott in 1880 Fayette County, Illinois, 39, with Martha E. 30, Julia J. 6, Edward 1, and David D. 23.
J.H. Scott in 1885 Weld County, a county commissioner, 41 born in Illinois, with M.E. 34 in New Yrok, Julia is 11, Edward 6, Susie 4, and baby boy one.
"Son of John Scott & Susan Shelton." per David's obituary 1856-1942 buried in Fayette County.

In 1900 Logan County, James is a laborer, born April 1844 in Illinois, father in France. Martha E. August 1850 in New Jersey, Susie E. April 1881 Illinois, George B. Nov 1884 COloado, Harry L. Jan 1887 Colorado, and Walter J. H. Octo 1889 COlorado.
Daughter Julia Ross Dec 1873 Illinois, married four years with two kids Nellie C. 3 and William seven months, is with them.
James H. 1843-1921 and Martha E. (Ball) Scott 1850-1925 are buried in Sterling.
In 1910 Logan County, William Ross is a mining engineer, 38, born in Scotland, with Julia 36. She's had four kids, three living. Nellie 13, Archie 10, and Pearl 5.
In 1920 Logan County, William is a factory engineer, immigating in 1886, with Julia, 46, Archibald 20 a railroad switchman, Pearl 15, Geraldine four, with Nellie now married to Floyd L. Snynder, both 23.
Next household is Walter J. Scott 30 and his wife Jessie 29. James 76, Martha E. 69, and Harley E. 16 are with them.
Julia J. (Scott) Ross 1873-1936 # 57111089 is also buried there.

In 1940 Sterling, Nell and Floyd Snyder, both 43 ae in a lodging house.

Nellie Cecil Snyder, born January 8, 1897, mother Scott, father Ross, died August 15, 1985 in Orange County, CCalifornia.

Susan Miller, born about 1881 to James Scott and Martha Ball, died in Jefferson County, Mawhington December 21, 1950.
She's buried in Fort Worden, Washington # 25798286, "wife of Sgt. Fred Miller.
Sgt. Fred D. Miller, retired, living at Cherry & P Streets in Port Townsend, was the next of kin.


Olive M. Tuffing is in Portage County Ohio in 1880, born about 1871 in Pennsylvania,, with he English father Farming.
George registered for WWI in Seattle, born Nov 9, 1884, with Olive Marie Scott. He was a switch foreman.
In 1920 George, 37, and Olive 43, are in Seattle, with her widowed daughter Gladys Baker 22.

George registered for WWII in Hollywood, California, born at Sterling Colorado, reference Mrs. Charles A. Flannery of San Francisco. He worked for Technicolor Motion Picture Corp in Los Angeles.

George Blaine Scott 1884-1949 is buried in Glendale California, with Olive Marie (Tuffing) Scott.

Blanche C. Clay was in Seattle in 1910, a drug clerk, living with parents Charles A. 48 and DOnna F. 45.
(Charles A. Clay was widowed in1930 Minnesota Hennepin County, with daughter Luella N Rosin 45. - So Blanche must have married sister Luella's widower....)

Harry L. Scott of Logan County, Colorado, and Blanche C. Clay of King County, Washington, married August 1, 1900 in Seattle.
In 1909 Harry was party to a civil suit regarding claim to land - involving sand and gravel removal to the town of Sterling to be used for building and laying of cement sidewalks.

In 1920 Logan County, Harry is a cement worker, with Blanch both 32, Vivian L. 6 and Charles 2.
They're in Phoenix in 1930, an engineer, 43, with Blanche 239, Vivian 16, and Charles 13.

Harry registered for WWII in Houston, Texas, a general contractor working in Mexico City, born January 29, 1887 at Sterling Colorado.

Harry Logan Scott, born January 30, 1885, died January 3, 1969 in Aitkin County, Minnesota.

Blanche was in Minnesota in 1940 (in Phoenix in 1935) with daughter Vivian 26 Eastman and her husband John 31, a mechanical engineer.
She may have married Earl A. Rosing, who might be the husband of Luella Rosing 1884-1945, both buried in Parkers Lake, Hennepin COunty.
Vivian Lucille Scott, born in Denver about 1913 to Harry L. Scott and Blanche Clay, married John Edward Estman in Mason City, Iowa September 10, 1936.

Charles Logan Scott, born March 4, 1917, died in Aitkin County May 6, 1973.

Walter James Scott registered for WWI in Sterling , born there October 4, 1889, a railroad conductor.
Walter J. Scott married Jessie Russell on June 5, 1918, recorded in Morgan County, Colorado.

(There's another Walter Joseph Scott, born at Holyoke August 7, 1888, in Marin County, California in 1917, married.)

Our Walter is in Logan County in 1920, married to Jessie.
He's on the same page as his father James H. 76 and Martha E. 69.
In 1940 Salt Lake, Walter J. is 50, a railroad conductor, with Jessie 49 born in Kansas.

Walter registered for WWII in Salt Lake City, born at Sterling, working for the Union Pacific, reference Mrs. Jessie R. Scott.
