October 4, 1956 "Mrs. Anna Knudson, 93, of Hayden, died Monday night. Funeral services are being held at the Jackson mortuary in Sterling. Mrs. Knudson came to Hayden eight years ago from Sterling. She was born October 28, 1883, in Denmark and is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mamie Ingersoll of Hayden and a son, Carl Knudson of Sterling, Colorado. She was a member of the Presbyterian church."
Nels Knudson is also buried in Sterling 1860-1900 # 21208254. So are Carl R. Knudson 1890-1957 # 54926168 and his wife Ruby L. (Pilkington) Knudson 1901-1977.
September 5, 1957 Hayden, Colorado "Mrs. Mamie Ingersoll was called to Sterling last week by the illness of her brother, Carl Knudsen, who died the next day. She returned home Saturday."

Ms. Lockhart wrote "Bill's (W.H.) father was Dorus Hamilton. He was Hamilton Dorus....and was known as H.D. That's true "across the board" in the research I have done.....if there is such as thing as "indisputable" in genealogy...this would certainly come close to being that. "
In 1910 Otoe County, Nebraska, W.H. Ingersoll is an oil well driller, 29, born in Pennsylvania, married two years to Reta 23 born in Nebraska. Rose is nine months old. His brother C.A. is 27, born in Pennsylvania.
October 1916 Lincoln, Nebraska "Reta G. Ingersoll testified in district court Friday morning that she and William H. Ingersoll were married in Council Bluffs in 1909, he being an artesian well borer. They traveled from place to place, and he left his family a year and a half ago and during the past year he sent the plaintiff only ?85. She was granted a decree."

November 1931 Laredo "Children of the school were entertained Thursday night with a hallowe'en party by their teachers Miss Elena Garcia and Miss Rose Glen Ingersoll. "
Ms. Lockhart adds "for many years..until her death in 1954, she taught all grades in that one-room school house, out among the ranches in Agularies."

"She was a great woman who influenced several generations of students in Mirando City Texas. "Teacher" was her epithet and a fabulous teacher she was. She was born in Nebraska City and came to Mirando City, Texas in 1922 with her husband the oilman, C.A. Ingersoll. She reared two children of her own: Roseglenn Ingersoll who married Robert Smith and who passed away in 1954, and William Hamilton Ingersoll who passed away in San Francisco in 1954. Roseglenn was educated at home by her mother and at Westmorland College for Girls in San Antonio. She was also a graduate of Southwest Texas State Teachers' College, now Southwest University. Reta is survived by two granddaughters, both teachers: Rita Lockhart of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Robbye Hamburgh of Bozeman, Montana. She is also survived by one great-great-grand daughter, Dr. Monica Hamburgh Rosas, M.D. of Montebello N.Y., and two great-great-great grand daughters: Madeline and Juliette Rosas. Reta Ingersoll was a wonderful woman who made certain that her daughter and son and her granddaughters, whom she reared, were given the best of everything she could offer: especially education, faith, and the value of hard work.

William H. Ingersoll, born January 1, 1913 in Nebraska, died September 22, 1954 in San Francisco, reported by a common law wife Carolyn Winterbower and mother Mrs. Reta Ingersoll of Miranda, Texas.
Reta's brother died in Lincoln Nebraska in November 1946. "Earl Sipple, 64, resident of Raymond for 18 years and former citizen of Lincoln for about eight years, died here Thursday afternoon. He formerly worked at Grand Island as an engineer for the Union Pacific railroad. Sipple was born in Ohio and received his schooling at Nebraska City. He is survived by two brothers, C. C. Sipple of Lincoln and J. S. Sipple of Grand Island; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Chandler of Lincoln and Mrs. C. A. Ingersoll, San Antonio, Tex., and two daughters."
Rose Glen Ingersoll and Robert Smith had a daughter born Sept 28, 1940 in Laredo, Texas.
William Hamilton Ingersoll registered for WWI in Sterling, an oil well driller, born Nov 11, 1878, relative M.M. Ingersonll of Ardmore, South Dakota.

1941 Dunkley items in the Steamboat Pilot "Mr. and Mrs. Oakley Ingersoll of Calpet, Wyoming, came to spend Mothers day with their mothers and returned to their home Sunday evening."

"William Hamilton Ingersoll was born Nov. 11, 1877, in Titusville, Penn. He was married to Marie Knudson March 19, 1919 in Cheyenne, Wyo. The family moved to Dunkley in 1930, where he was the oil well driller on the Omholt ranch. They moved to Hayden Dec. 7, 1941, where he died Feb. 12, 1949, after a long illness. He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, one son, Oakley, and two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Caylor of Hot Springs, S. D., and one brother of Lorenzo City, Tex. Funeral services were held in the Congregational Church Thursday at which Rev. W. S. Stevenson officiated. The interment was in the Hayden Cemetery."
Mamie is also buried in Hayden # 144549484.
August 11, 1966 "Funeral services were held for Mrs. Mamie Ingersoll Saturday, August 6 at 2:00 p.m., at the Root Mortuary in Steamboat Springs. Mrs. Ingersoll passed away in the St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction August 3, after being hospitalized 2 weeks. She had been in failing health for sometime. Mrs. Jean Wixson was the Christian Science Reader. The Hayden Rebekah Lodge No. 75 took part in the services. Mrs. Pearl Miller, soloist sang 'Nearer My God To Thee', accompanied by Mrs. Romaine Mahaffey. Pallbears were Albert Baierl, Truman Leslie, Chester Dunckley, Ray Yoast, Alfred Sandercook, Robert Hope, Jack Kitchens and Ira Waddle. Interment was in the Hayden Cemetery under the direction of the Root Mortuary. Mrs. Ingersoll was born in Sterling, Colorado December 20, 1887. Mr. and Mrs. Ingersoll moved to Hayden in 1942 from the Dunckley community where he was employed. Mr. Ingersoll preceded her in death. Mr. Ingersoll built her a new house in 1951 and has made it her home until the time of her failing health. She was a member of the Hayden Christian Science Church and the Hayden Rebekah Lodge. No. 75 She is survived bv one son Oakley Ingersoll of Casper Wyo., one daughter, Mrs. Darrow of Eugene, Oregon and a number of grandchildren. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being taken for the Hayden Cemetery."
August 18, 1956 "Mrs. Leona Darron (probably should be Darrow) has returned to her home in Eugene, Oregon after being called here by the illness and death of her mother, Mrs. Mamie Ingersoll."
May 20, 1937 "The marriage of Oakley Ingersoll and Mary J. Yoast occurred May 11 at Hayden. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Gale in the presence of Mable Yoast, sister of the bride, and Leon Green. The couple left immediately for Calpet, Wyo., where they will make their home. Oakley Ingersoll is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ingersoll, who supervised the drilling of an oil well in Dunkley park. He is industrious and holds a competent position with the Texas Oil company in Wyoming. Mrs. Ingersoll is the elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Yoast, pioneer residents and ranchers of the Dunkley section. She is a charming girl and has been a popular member of the Dunkley community. She is an excellent cook and housekeeper. Dunkley is unfortunate that Mr. and Mrs. Oakley Ingersoll are not remaining here. They will be valuable residents and have a host of friends who wish them happiness and success in their new home."

Oakley Carl Ingersoll of Buffalo, Wyo., died Dec. 13, 1999, at the Amie Holt Care Center. He was 88.
On Jan. 10, 1911, in Sterling, Colo., he was born the son of William and Mamie Ingersoll. He was raised in Sterling by his grandmother, Anna Knudson, and graduated from Sterling High School in 1929. After high school he went to work in the oil fields near Sterling. In 1936, he went to work for Texas Oil Co., which later became Texaco.
On May 11, 1937, in Hayden, Colo., he married Mary Yoast. They made their home in Calpet, Wyo., where Oakley continued to work for Texaco for 37 years as a drilling and production foreman. He worked in Wyoming and Colorado.
He retired from Texaco in 1973 and worked for Rainbow Resources in Casper, Wyo., as a consultant for seven years. Oakley retired in 1981 and he and his wife continued to live in Casper until July 1991 when they moved to Buffalo.
He is survived by his wife; son, Oakley Carl Jr.; daughters, Mary Rhoads and Carla Scott; sister, Leona Darrow; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Leona Marie Jones was born at Sterling on Sept 4, 1914 to Ira Jones and Marie Garwood, as McCain in 1936, and Darrow in 1948.
She was living at 1403 W. Sixth Avenue, Apt 14 in Eugene Oregon in 1963.
She died January 2, 2006.
Leona was in Phillips County, Colorado in 1920, with Ira 44 born in Kansas and Marie L. 34 born in Arkansas.
She was their adopted daughter. Pearl M. 16 born in Kansas, Thomas F. 15 in Colorado, Leland O 13, Lillie M. 12, Ivan E. 10, and Leona 5 were all born in COlorado.
Leona is in Haxtun in 1930, 15, with Ira O. 54 and Ivan E. 21.
July 1935 Craig, Colorado "To meet the rapidly growing demand for his product, Fred D'Amico brought two bakers from Denver this week and they are at work in their new positions. Jack McCain is an expert on bread and rolls and Les Dunlap specializes in pastry. D'Amico has also recently installed a new slicing machine and a combination bread wrapper and sealer."
She married Jack Lynn McCain on March 2, 1939 in Denver.
Jack was in Torrington, Wyoming, in 1940, married but no spouse, a lodger, 27, born in Nebraska.
Ivan Earl Jones 1917-1986 is buried in Scottsbluff # 116588259.
Ira O. Jones 1875-1959 is buried in Haxtun # 58660252, with Marie (Garwood) Jones 1885-1922.
