In 1930 Phillips County, Laura - widowed is with parents Renny A. and Ruth Smith, farming. She has John P. 12, Ruth M. 10, and Clarence L. 8.
In 1930 Hamilton County, Nebraska, Alvin is single, 38, with parents John and Mary, both 74. Brother Ira is 30, sister Beatrice 21.
Alvin is in Hamilton County in 1940, single, 48, with mother Mary 84. Uncle Abraham Henry, 78, and halfpsister Della I. Alder 50 born in Nebraska.
Laura and Clarence are still living with Perry and Ruth Smith in Phillips County in 1940.

Ruth Rhodes is a maid, 20, in 1940 Fort Collins, and John is a laborer in a boarding house in Denver.

Alvin Lee Rhodes 1892-1983 is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Adams County, Nebraska.
His brother Walter Fay Rhodes 1887-1960 is also buried there # 40942400, and brother Ira T. Rhodes 1899-1978 # 40933733.

Laura E. Rhodes 1896-1975 is buried in Haxtun # 58733604. So are Perry A. 1879-1956 # 58925303 and Ruth A. Smith 1875-1960.
John P. Rhodes 1917-2008 is buried in Fort Logan # 36190739, with Elizabeth L. 1920-2015.

John Perry Rhodes passed away on June 6, 2008 in Westminster at the age of 90. John was born December 22, 1917, the son of Lee and Laura Rhodes. He grew up on their farm northeast of Haxtun and graduated from Haxtun High School in 1937. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in September 1939 and was discharged in September 1944. On August 9, 1941, while on a three-day pass, he married Lois Lundberg at her parents’ home in Sedgwick County. In 1946, they moved to a farm near the Fairfield Church where they raised their family. They moved to Denver in 1965 where John worked for Gardner Denver. They returned to Haxtun in 1987 where they lived until 1997 when they moved to Covenant Village of Colorado in Westminster. John is survived by his wife; four daughters and one son, Betty and Ray Smith of Fowler, Douglas Rhodes of Denver, Mary Young of Aurora, Marlene and David Gastellum of Antioch and Virginia and Ruben Garcia of Phoenix. One sister, Ruth Snapp, 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive him. His parents; brother, Clarence Rhodes; and grandchild, Scott Rhodes, preceded him in death.

Clarence died in 1989



Ruth Rhodes graduated from Haxtun in 1937, and married Malcolm Snapp of Denver. A 11985 article said they visited at the home of Mrs. Snapp's sister and family, Mrs. and Mrs. Virgil Harms.

He's in Washington County, Colorado in 1920, farming , with Lillian 26 born in Kansas.
He claimed land in 5N 53W, Washington County, in 1921.

In 1930 Malem is back in Hamilton County, Nebraska, farming, 41, Lillian 37, wtih Billy 8 and Lucille 5, both born in Nebraska.
In 1940 Clay County, Nebraska, Malem is a farm laborer, Lillian 46, William 18 born in South Dakota, Lucille 15, Nebraska.
Malem died October 22, 1979 in Sacramento County, California.
Lillian, born Oct 5, 1893 in Kansas, died October 1, 1977 in Sacramento.

Lucille Maxine Rhodes was born Feb 14, 1925 at Omaha, Nebraska to Malem D. Rhodes and Lillian O. Wederski, dying October 26, 1992, name Purington 1944, Oneil 1952, Nash 1962, Tatman 1964 and as Starrh 1975.
She's buried in Minden, Nevada 1925-1992 # 27885934.
