In 1910 Edward is a blacksmith in Crook precinct, Logan County, 25, born in Nebraska.

Edward claimed a quarter in 2, 9N 50W in 1913.

" Emma Speer was born in 1898 in Nebraska, to Marion Peter Rick and Emma Rick. In 1900 Greeley COunty, Nebraska, Emma is with parents Peter Ricks 28 and Emma 19. Emma was born in August 1897, brother George June 1899.
Emma had 13 siblings: George Rick, Joseph Rick and 11 other siblings. Emma married Edward Speer on May 19, 1918, at age 19 in Bridgeport, Nebraska. Emma passed away on month day 1926, at age 27 in Nebraska."

Marion Peter Rick was born in Wisconsin in 1873 and died in Scottsbluff in 1964.

When he registered for WWI in Morrill County, Nebraska, he was a merchant, with wife Emma Speer.

Edward was widowed in 1930 Morrill County, farming, 44. Daughters Marie 11, Catherine A. 9, Rosie C. 8, and Violet M. 5 were all born in Nebraska.

In 1940 he's in Payette County, Idaho, with daughters Marie 21 and Catherine 19, all laborers. They wee in Bridgeport, Nebraska in 1935.

Rosie and Violet are in Canyon County, Idaho in 1940, with their aunt Nancy - John C. Wozniak 55 and Nancy 49, all born in Nebraska.
Edward Lawrence Speer registered for WWII in Payette, Idaho, born at Brainerd, Nebraska March 21, 1885, with Mrs. Ed. Evans of Payette as reference.

Edward L. Speer 1885-1969 is buried in Clallam County, Wshington # 47181297.

Rose Charlotte (Speer) Lindauer is buried in Rupert, Idaho 1922-1973 # 74731299.

Marie Louise Speer was born Nov 15, 1918 at Broadwater, Nebraska to Edward L. Speer and Emma B. Ricks, dying December 19, 1998 in King County, Washington as Tussing.
"Elvin Herbert Tussing died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005. He was 93.
Mr. Tussing was born Sept. 17, 1912, in Fruitland, Idaho. He had lived in Seattle for the past 65 years. He was an electronics and numerical control technician at the Boeing Company for 35 years. He loved working with electronics and was a HAM radio operator.
He was raised in a Christian family and was married to Marie L. Tussing of Burien for 57 years. (She died in 1998.)
Survivors include his son, David, and daughter, Bonnie.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Park. Interment was held at Washington Memorial Park. Remembrances may be made to Highline Medical Center."



Catherine Alice (Speer) Evans passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at her residence: Harbor Crest Retirement Community. She was born August 18, 1920 in Bayard, Nebraska to Emma (Ricks) and Lawrence Edward Speer. The family moved to Southern Idaho where mom met George "Ed" Evans and they were joined in marriage on June 30, 1940, for 56 years. They first lived in Payette, ID, then in Portland and Sweet Home, OR.
In 1956 they moved to Washtucna, WA and then to Benge, WA in 1962. While in Benge mom was a homemaker, seamstress, and crochet expert. She belonged to the Benge Community Church, Spinning Guild, Homemaker Club, Pinochle Club, Benge/Ralston Grange and was a Cub Scout leader. She loved gardening, canning, fishing, was a baker of cinnamon rolls and "Don's cookies," like no other.
In 1979 they settled for retirement in Ritzville, WA, where she resided and cared for her husband Ed until his passing. She was a member of the Ritzville Grandmother's Club, Gritman Senior Center, became an avid oil painter and Adams County "Baking Queen" for several years in a row. Mom then moved to the Bitterroot Valley, MT in 1997, to Sapphire Lutheran Retirement Center and relocated in 2005 to Spokane.

Catherine is survived by sister; Violet Cate of Middleton, ID, two daughters: Charolette(Larry) Honn, Alice (Joe) Lechtenberg, and son Don (Rita) Evans, eight grandchildren: Crystal Honn, Larry Honn Jr., Angela (Brian) Woods, Julie (Brandon) Price, Cheri (Larry) Dyk, Trina Lechtenberg, Reid and Joshua Evans, four great-grandchildren: Andrew Honn, Kaden and Trask Price and Alyssa Dyk.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Marie and Rose, son Edward Reed Evans and husband Ed. Visitation will be Monday January 14, 2008 from 12pm to 5pm and Tuesday January 15, 2008 from 9am to 12pm with Funeral Services following at 1pm at the DANEKAS FUNERAL HOME-RITZVILLE, WA. Vault interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery Washtucna, WA. #23930690.
