John A. and Juniatta Swanson, 9 North 50 West


In 1900 Osage County, Kansas, Johnny Swanson - July 1872 - is just married to Juniatta January 1881 born in Kansas.
His parents John 1838-1924 and Svenborg Swanson 1836-1902 are buried in Osage County.
In 1905 Lyon County, Kansas, John is 32, Junie 23, Lavera 4, and Arthur 1. A.J. Swanson, 25 is living with them.

August Swanson 1879-1963 is buried in Topeka, Kansas, with Annie 1884-1973.

In 1910 Logan County, Fleming precinct, John A. Swanson is farming, 38 born in Sweden, married ten years to Jennie 28 Kansas. Laverne 9, Arthu 6, and Vernon 4 were born in Kansas, Ferdinand 1 in Colorado. Two children had died.

In 1913 Osage County, Kansas, "John Swanson and family visited last Saturday with Mrs. A. Swanson..
"John Swanson and family went to Canada last week...
"Mrs. John Swanson and family are visiting a few days in Osage City, before going to Canada, where they will make their home." [wonder if Canada is a town....]

John claimed a quarter in 34, 9N 50W in 1913.

In 1920 they're back in Hayes County, Nebraska, with Arthur F. 16, Vernon A. 13, Ferdinand 11, and Walter 8.

John is widowed in 1930 Red Willow County, a farm labore for J.W. Poole family.

John is widowed in 1940 McCook, 67, and Walter 27 and Magdalena 31 are living with him.

John Arthur Swanson 1872-1943 is buried in McCook with Juanitta (Barraclough) Swanson 1879-1926.

"Juanita (Wuanetta) was born in Osage County, Kansas in January 1881 to unknown parents. In 1882 she was adopted by William and Sally Barraclough. On 20 December 1899 she married John Arthur Swanson. To their union were born 5 children; Levera, Arthur, Vernon, Ferdinand, and Walter. "



LEVERIA

Laveria had married Arthur Jennings, and he's a drayman in Yuma in 1920, 23 born in Nebraska. They have Waunetta 1 born in Nebraska.
Arthur and Leveria are in Wayne County, Michigan in 1930, with Waunetta 12, Alfred 10 born in Colorado, Francis 8 in Nebraska, and Charlotte 1 in Michigan.

In 1940 Wayne County, Michigan, Arthur is 43, married but no spouse, and Francis A. 17 is living with him. They have a divorced housekeeper Ruth Van Caampos 36 bon in Oklahoma.

When Arthur registered for WWII in Trenton, Michigan, his reference was Mrs. Wannetta Speer of Ecose, Michigan. Arthur Swanson, 1872-1943 is buried in McCook, with Juanitta (Barraclough) Swanson 1879-1926.

Arthur Ervin Jennings, born about 1897 at Curtis Nebraska to Francis Jennings and Myrtle Murphy, married Olive Wilcox on July 2, 1949 in Jackson County, Michigan, residing at Dearborn.

Arthur Jennings, born Sept 18, 1896, died in Osceola Florida on March 28, 1979.

Alfred, born Febuary 23, 1920 at Yuma, married Lucille G. Wood in Jackson County, Michigan on Dec 31, 1945.
Yuma Pioneer February 26, 1920 "Dr. Ham reports the arrival of a baby boy at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Art Jennings, in Yuma, on Sunday, February 22."
Alfred E. Jennings 1920-1990 is buried in Jackson, Michigan, # 119316751.


VERNON

Vernon Swanson 1906-1987 is buried in Spokane County, Washington.

He was born March 4, 1906 at Topeka Kansas, to John A. Swanson - mother "Klasaman."

WALTER

Walter 1912-1987 is buried in Jefferson County, Colorado, with Magdalena M. 1909-1987.

ARTHUR

In 1930 Norton Kansas, Arthur Swanson is 26, Opal 22, with Maxine 3 and Donald 2.

Maxine was living in Clay County, Nebraska in 1940, with grandparents Frank Killion 60 and Edythe M. 61.
She was born June 18, 1926 at McCook Nebraska to Arthur Swanson and Opal Suska, dying as Maguire on August 16, 1997, in Alameda County, California.
Donald Frances Swanson was born March 24, 1928 at Maywood, Nebraska to Arthur F. Swanson and Opal J. Suska, dying June 21, 1989.


One tree said Arthur Frank Swanson died Sept 1981 in Contra Costa County, California.

Opal J. Swanson, born October 16, 1907 in Nebraska, father Suska, mother Spellman, died August 13, 1983 in Alameda County, California.
Her grand-parents Carl 1848-1917 Suska, # 33276249, and Louise 1851-1926 are buried in Maywood, Nebraska.
June 26, 1943 Lincoln, Nebraska " WYMORE, Neb. Carl Suska, .59, Maywood, who had lived here for a short time, died Wednesday. Funeral Friday for services and burial will be at Maywood. ."

In 1973 Denver, Samantha F. (wid Carl) Suska is living at 2290 S. Downing.

Evelyn Musetta Suska Price passed away on November 4, 2014 in Lakewood, Colorado. Mrs. Price was born January 22, 1921 in Maywood Nebraska. Her parents were Carl and Samantha Spellman Suska. Evelyn married James Matthew Price on March 9, 1947. They moved to Colorado. Evelyn lived in the Lakewood and WheatRidge area for 59 years. She retired from Montgomery Wards. Evelyn loved gardening and she loved visiting with her family, especially her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, Ciara and Damian Lopez and Abrielle Redin who brought so much love and happiness to her in her last years. We all enjoyed listening to stories of her childhood. She was very loving and caring. She will truly be missed. Evelyn is survived by her son Gregory Leigh Price of Montana; several niece's and nephews, granddaughters Tina Bernal, Brenda Najar; grandson Travis Bernal; grandson-in-law Isaias Najar; all from Colorado, 6 great grandchildren Ryan Lopez, Desiree Milon (Dusty); Danica Redin (Isaac) Celina Bernal, Isaias Najar, and Isaac Najar; 3 great great grandchildren Ciara Lopez, Damian Lopez and Abrielle Redin. Preceded in death; husband James Matthew Price; daughter Denise Corinne Price, and daughter Kathy Marie Price Valencia; siblings Opal Swanson, Lela Greenlee, Minnie Ecker, Della Plumlee and brother Charles "Bud" Suska.



Fred Swanson of McCook was reported missing in the 1935 Republican River flood.
