OBITUARY - Olof Johnson was born April 26, 1842 in Sweden and died on Monday June 8, 1908 at his home in Phillips County, Colorado. He was married to Carrie Peterson in Sweden and they came to the United States in 1883 and settled in Nebraska where they remained till 1887 when they came to Phillips County, Colorado, where he filed on a homestead on which land the family still resides.


To them were born 7 children of whom Johan died in Sweden and Jennie, wife of Otis Guernsey, died in this county. August resides in Flagler and the others, Charles, Fred, Tillie and Annette in this county. The deceased had for many years been a member of the Swedish Lutheran church. He was one of the early settlers of the county and had many friends in the county. The funeral was held on Wednesday and the body was laid away in the Paoli cemetery beside that of his daughter.
