Mrs. August Becker died at her home a few miles south of Vernon on Tuesday, April 4 and the funeral is being held today at Vernon. The deceased has been in poor health for a number of months but the end came unexpected to the lady's family and their friends. Several months ago she underwent a surgical operation and up to the time of her death had been confined to her bed for most of the time. But a short time before her death she is said to have expressed herself as believing that she was much improved.
The deceased and her husband came to this county a number of years ago and they enjoy the friendship of a large acquaintance in this county and especially in the vicinity of Vernon where they have lived since coming to the county. The husband and other relatives have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
