Yuma County Pioneer Photographs:

Frank Schroller,  Joes

In 1880 Seward County, Nebraska Frank Schroller, 26 is a carpenter, living with the August Waltmon family.

Frank cash-claimed a quarter in 35, 4S 47W in 1890, and a quarter by Timber in 12, 5S 47W in 1895.

1899 Wray "Herr Franz Schroller of Kirk was in town purchasing supplies Wednesday."

In 1900 Cope precinct Frank born February 1854 in Germany, is single, a stock raiser.  He said he immigrated in 1880.

1905 Wray "Frank Schroller of near Kirk, was a county seat visitor the first of the week, coming over to attend to business, and found time to make the Gazette a pleasant call.  Mr. Schroller lives so far away that he only gets to town once or twice a year."

In 1910 Labette County, Kansas there's a Frank Schroller, 55, born in Germany (with Danish written above it), single, farming, immigrating in 1888.

In 1925 Marshall County, Kansas, Frank is 71, single.

In 1930 Marshall County, he's still single, but his sister-in-law Leota Schroller, 50, born in Nebraska, is with him.

The household before him in the 1930 census is Rudolph Schroller, 38, with Ida 30.  Rudolph was born in Nebraska.

At the 1938 funeral of Amelia (Harwig) Kamler in Fillmore County Nebraska "Those attending from a distance were ..... Mr. and Mrs. William Schroller, Frank Schroller Sr., and Rudolph Schroller, all of Marysville, Kansas."

"Fronk" O. Schroller, Sr., 86, is still in Marshall County in 1940, and Leota is still with him.  And the household before him is still Rudolph and Ida.  One of Rudolph's sons was named Frank, so Rudolph could be a nephew.  Rudolph's father was William/Wilhelm, born about 1861 in Germany, and he named one of his sons Frank.  That could explain the "Sr." in the census.

Frank Schroller, Sr. per FindAGrave, is buried in Saint Gregory's Cemetery, Marshall County - Feb 2, 1854 - Mar 15, 1941. 114079298
