Francis A. Soules, Willis E. Soules,  Heartstrong

One tree said James Soles, Jr. married Anna Maria Knight October 24, 1842 in Peoria, Illinois.  and that she died May 29, 1873 

In 1850 Peoria, Illinois James and Anna Soules have James 6 and Francis 2 with them.

In 1860 Galva post office, Knox County, Illinois James 40, and Arnett 34 have  Jas. 16, Francis 11, Willace E. 8, Robt H. 5,

In 1870 Knox County James 50, and Anna M. 45 have Francis A. 22, Willis E. 18, Laura A. 9, Walter N. 7, with four servants and farm hands - one tree says James was the county sheriff..

In 1879 Walter is in Lancaster County, Nebraska, 16, no occupation.

In 1880, same family, W.M. Soule is 17, a "hostler chore boy"

In 1885 Seward County, Nebraska W. M. Soules, now 22, is a clerk, boarding with Sylvester and Sarah Hall.

Walter and Cora are in Iowa in 1910, then in Republic County Kansas 1920 and 1930

Walter M. Soules died at Belleville Kansas Friday, December 15, 1938, after a short illness. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Episcopal church in Courtland   Tuesday afternoon in charge of the Rev. G. V. Parks and burial  in the Courtland cemetery  beside his wife who preceded him in death the past summer.


In 1880 Syracuse, Otoe County, Nebraska E.W. Soles is 28, Illinois, a laborer, single (matching the 1900 Willis E. Soules August 1852).  Then in 1885 Lancaster County, Nebraska Ed Soules, 33, a farm hand.

In 1880 Otoe County there's a Frank Soles 38 - single, farming.

Francis cash-claimed a quarter in 24, 1S 47W in 1891,  and the Heartstrong store was in the corner of his claim.

In 1900 Frank A. Soules July 1848 Illinois, and brother Willis E. Soules Aug 1852 Illinois are together, farming in Glendale precinct, then Arapahoe County.


1904  W.E. Soules, administrator for the estate of Francis A. Soules, was to appear to settle any claims against the estate.

In 1910 Yuma County Willis E. is still single, still farming.

In 1917 Charley Soules was in the third grade in the Wray school.
