William and Christine Wilhelmine ( Baumhoffer) Dangberg, Landsman.

Wilhelm 59 and Wilhelne 50 arrived at New York  September 7, 1887 from Bremen on the America, with Johana 20, Heinrich 17, Franz 17, Lina 15, and daughter Auguste 6. (Franz has to be the Frank H. Dangberg 1870 -1939 in the Winside cemetery, Wayne County, Nebraska with Friedericke 1886-1978)

Johanna Mary "Danberg" married Adam Rettig in 1889 in Denver.  In Grand Junction Orchard Mesa is Adam Rettig 1863-1951 and Johanna M. 1868-1946.

W. F. Dangberg proved up a quarter in 31, 4S 43W in 1894, and William proved up a quarter in 9, 5S 44W in 1898, and an adjoining "timber" quarter in 1900.

Henry proved up a parcel in 1900 in 31 5S 43W

Henry G. Dangberg married Katie Mertgen May 7, 1899.  (Christian Mertgen had proved up a quarter in 17, 5S 44W in 1901)

In 1900 William, February 1828 and Minnie L. April 1837, both Germany, have been married 42 years, eleven children, seven living. 

On the same census page is Henry G. Dangberg May 1870 and Kate April 1876, both Germany, and Ferd W, March 1900 Colorado. 


1905 "Henry Dangberg of Idalia purchased a farm of Mr. Stuithiet of Newton last week.  Consideration $500."

In 1909 "Henry J. Dangberg" of Idalia was sued by the government to recover land valued at $3,000 which he bought from Alexander Peetz for $600.  Gross fraud on the part of Peetz, the original entryman, is charged.

January 22, 1909 the county commissioners paid M.D. Brown $14.70 of $39.60 claimed for coroner service for Mary Wilhelmina Dangberg.

August 13, 1909 "Word has been received by friends in Wray of the death of Henry G. Dangberg, a prominent farmer living east of Idalia, which occurred Wednesday night.  A. F. Peck left for the south divide yesterday to attend the funeral services"

In 1910 Katie, 34 is widowed, five children still living.  Frederick 9, Charles 7, Minnie 6, George 4, and Edward 2.

1918 "Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Boden and two sons, and daughter Miss Minnie, Carl and Ed Dangberg; Mr. and Mrs. Marion Fellows and son and daughter Evan and Grace, left for a trip to the mountains this week."

In 1920 Katie 43 has married William J.  Boden,27, and they're farming in Yuma County.  Katie's children with them are Fred "Danyberg" 20, Carl 17, Minnie 16, Edward 11, and Katie's mother Lucie Mertgen, 79, born in Germany.

Edward Dangberg was a 1931 graduate of Wray High School.

In 1930 William and Katie are still in Yuma County. Edward C. Dangberg, 21 with them has no occupation.  When William John Boden registered for WWI, he said he had a wife and crippled child.

In 1930 Fred W. and Carl C. are living together by Idalia.

Carl married Marian Starr April 14, 1931

Minnie Dangberg married Charles Lengel July 21, 1939.

Minnie L. Lengel, 86, homemaker, born Nov 7, 1903, died Wednesday, April 11, 1990 McPherson, Kansas. Service 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Northern Colorado Church of the Brethren, Windsor, Colo. Survivors: son, Leland of McPherson; two grandchildren. Memorials have been established with Northern Colorado Church of the Brethren and McPherson College. Ball & Son Funeral Home.

Charles Harrison Lengel, born Oct 28, 1899 Newton, Colorado, died Oct 16, 1981 Greeley.

In 1940 William and Katie Boden are in Colorado Springs, with no occupation.

In 1940 Katie Fred is married in 1940 to Sylvia, 36, and the census has them in 4S 43W - a few miles north of William's claim.

 William Langendoerfer married Frances Charlotte Dangberg "an estimable Nebraska lady" in 1883. In 1887 they moved to Idalia, Colo., where he farmed. Then in 1931 they moved to Burlington, Colo., where he died on 17 June 1940. His wife was born on 6 Aug 1864, and died at Burlington on 17 Apr 1963.
