"Minnie" Anna was a daughter of Ernst/Williams and Johannah Louise (Gumelt) Winkelman.
She was the sister of: Anna Amilia, Mono and Ottelea W. She was first married to Mr. Calhun.
John Bernard Thomas and Minnie Winkelman were married July 30, 1883 in Chadron, Nebraska.
They had eight children:
Clara, Annie Minnie, Katie Hulda, John William, Edward Ferdinand, Fred Henry, Harry Lewis, and Johannas Louise.
In 1885 Butler County, Nebraska, John Thomas is 28, Minnie 23, both born in Prussia. They have Clarah, 1.
Joseph Thomas, 25, brother is living with them.
In 1900 Lansing precinct, Francis Greatsinger, born July 1849 in New York, married eleven years to Elsie N.
March 1838 New York, are farming. They have a Katie Thomas, 12, born in Nebraska, as a servant.
1902 "Anna Thomas, who lives with Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Hendrie, has gone out home south of Vernon, for a three weeks visit with her mother."
Katie must the daughter of Minnie A. Thomas, widowed in 1910 Glendale precinct, born July 1862 in Germany.
With her are Clara May 1884, Anna M. June 1885, John W. Dec 1889, Edward F. Aug 1892, Frederick H. Sept 1895, Harry L. January 1897, and Johannah L. Jan 1899, all Nebraska.
1904 "Miss Clara Thomas, who has been visiting at home, returned to Basalt, Colorado, recently.
In 1910 Yuma County, Minnie is 49, John 20, Edward 18, Fred 14, Harry 12, and Louisa 10.
Minnie A. Thomas proved up 320 acres in 10, 11, and 14, 2S 44W. It was on the south fork of Black Wolf Creek. It joined land of Geo C. Piper, proved up in 1894.
In 1920 Minnie is living with Edward and Fred.

Edward Thomas and Grace Rock married May 10, 1921, recorded in Yuma County.Grace was born May 22, 1898 in Saint Croix, Wisconsin, and is with parents James and Cora in Wisconsin in 1900, 1905, and 1910.
Worley A. Rock proved up two quarters in 33, 2S 45W in 1913.
Worley's sister Emma married Harley Piper, and they were in Vernon in 1910, but moved back to Iowa.
Edward is married in 1930 Yuma County, 27, with Grace J. 31, Wisconsin. They have Donald, 2.
Edward is farming in 1940 El Paso County, and they have only Donald.

DONALD KENNETH THOMAS Donald Thomas Donald Kenneth Thomas spent
his life pursuing adventures as an avid outdoorsman. Born
March 2,1928 to Edward F. Thomas and Grace J. Thomas (Rock),
Don grew up ranching the high plains of Southeastern Colorado
with his father. Much of his youth was spent camping, hunting,
fishing and skiing. His interest in guns and ammunition led
him work as an Artillery Repairman in the Civil Service at Ft. Carson
in the 50's and 60's. His love of hunting and fishing led him start his own business - Western Sporting Goods - on the Westside of Colorado Springs in the 70's. He married Mary Ann Bergman October 3,1973. Although he sold the business, he continued to do gunsmith work along with his pursuit of hunting and fishing until his death. While attending a gun Sign the Guest Book at www.legacy.com/gazette show in Denver, Don broke a hip. He died Monday, November 21, 2005 of complications during dialysis prior to hip surgery. He is survived by his stepson -James D. Clark. 1905 "Miss Katie Thomas, who has been up at Pueblo for some time, arrived in Wray Saturday and went out to her home south of Vernon."
"Miss Katie Thomas, who has been employed at Pueblo, Colo., returned to her home, eight miles south of Vernon, last Saturday."
1907 "Katie Thomas expects to leave here for California to visit a sister."
1910 "Miss Katie Thomas arrived Wednesday from Ocean Park, Cal. She went out to the home of her mother, Mrs. Anna Thomas, where she will probably remain for a few months."
1916 the Yuma County commissioners paid the Littleton Hospital for the care of Anna Thomas.
1914 "Mesdames George and Lem Hadlock and Miss Katie Thomas from southwest of Vernon, wer Denver visitors the first of this week, going on No. 9, Monday and returning on No. 14, yesterday."
James J. Lower, 27, and Clara Thomas 21, both residents of Santa Monica, married there December 26, 1905.
In 1910 Santa Monica, California, Clara, 25, born in Nebraska, has been married four years to James J. Lower, 31, Ioa. a barber. They have Mary L. 3, born in California.
In 1930 San Bernardino, James, a barber, and Clara J., a practical nurse,
have Louise E. Morgan, married but no spouse, 23, with Robert E. 5 and William E. 3.
In 1940 San Bernardino, James - barber and Clara - nurse, are living with Louise 33 and Jasper Bailey 33.
Robert 15 and Billy 13 Morgan are with them.

Clara Thomas Lower, 97, a 70-year resident of San Bernardino, died February 22, 1982.
A private nurse for over 50 years, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of San Bernardino since 1911.
Survived by daughter Louise Bailey of San Bernardino; brother, Fred of Arriba, Colo.; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; three great great-step-grandchildren.
Buried in Montecito # 63392077.

Fred H. Thomas married Minnie Kuk in Burlington, Colorado December 20, 1920.
Fred H. and Minnie, 32, born in Colorado, are farming in Vernon precinct in 1930, no chidren.
In 1940 Mildred precinct, Yuma County, Fred, 44 and Minnie 42 have no children.
Minnie (Kuk) Thomas 1897-1946 is buried in St. Johns, Yuma County.
