Lucetta, born Sept 1852 in New York, married John Jones about 1869 - He was born Nov 1845 in Illinois, and they're farming in Doniphan County in 1900, on the same page as Joseph Nixon July 1859 Indiana.  Joseph's wife is Susie Aug 1868 Illinois, and they have Freddie July 1888 Kansas.

John served in I, 94th Illinois, and G, 37th Ill, and is at the Leavenworth hospital in 1921 , a widower, farming at Troy Kansas, nearest relative C. Jenkinson.  He was widowed in 1910 Doniphan County, and single in 1920.

John H. Jones 1845-1919 and Lucetta 1852-1910 are buried in Mt. Olive.27688588

Mary Jane Nixon, per one tree, was born about 1839 in New York, married Guilford D. Baker, and they're in Doniphan County, Kansas in 1870 - hes' a newspaper editor, with Albert E. 5.  They're in Montgomery County, Iowa in 1880, with Mary 22, and Albert E. 15.  Mary is in Topeka in 1909 (wid Gilford) at 208 Harrison.  So is Mary C. Bevelle (wid Horace L.) an d Joseph Bevelle, a machinist at the A% & SF.

Mary is in Topeka Kansas in 1910, with daughter Mary Beville, 52,widowed, born in New York.  Mary is 70, born in New Jersey.

James H. Nixon, born at Newburg, New York, registered at Albany in Lieut Johnson's company March 29, 1858, age 23.

James H. Nixon is in Osborne County, Kansas (next to Rooks County) in 1880, a widower, born about 1835 in New York, a lawyer.  James H. Nixon was in Company C 81st Ohio.  His photo is in "Just a Family History" , taken at Corinth, Mississippi Dec 13, 1862.

Benjamin Taylor Nixon is in the California voter registration lists of 1868, age 28, born in New Jersey, a school teacher in Salinas.

One Ancestry tree said Benjamin died 1892 near Vernon, Colorado. (that is undocumented)

In 1860 Appanoose County, Iowa, Ira 55 and Elizabeth 52 Tucker have Marissa 17, Ann E. 15, and Blackburn J. 13.

In 1849 this family moved to Iowa and took a claim near Moulton.  During the Civil War the bushwhackers harassed Ira and his 12 year-old son.  At the end of the war, April 1865, Ira took his family (with the exception of Elizabeth -should be Amanda, maw - who had married) to California.

In 1870 Salinas, B.T Nixon , 32, born in New Jersey, is a retail merchant, married to Elisabeth 19.

1875 Monterey County, California - B.T. Nixon had a furniture store  (Cook, Nixon & Stanley) in Salinas, and B.T. Nixon was county treasurer.

Sacramento Daily Union January 17, 1876 " DIED Salinas City, January 8- B. T. Nixon  40  years"

B. T. Nixon 1836-1876 is buried in Salinas # 100181906.  Also in Salinas, with a tombstone of the same style, is Ann E. Nixon 1843-1922.  William Elwood Nixon - 1873-1934 is also in the Garden of Memories.  #100182075.

In 1880 Castroville, "Bitty" Nixon, 32, William 6, and James 5 are living with Ira and Elizabeth Tucker.

Died  at West Grove, Iowa, Feb. 15, 1893, of pneumonia, Samuel RUSSELL, son-in-law of Mr.&Mrs. Ira TUCKER of Salinas City, California.

1893 The Baptist Church of Salinas, was organized in 1873, and the church edifice was erected in 1875. It has a seating capacity of about 200. Rev. E. B. Hatch is the present pastor. The trustees are Dr. E. K. Abbott, Judge J. K. Alexander, W. F. Treat, Ira Tucker, Henry Whisman.

James and William Nixon, of Salinas, were enrolled at Heald's Business College in San Francisco in 1895.

SALINAS. March 14, 1897 Mrs. Ira Tucker, wife of the oldest voter on the great register of Monterey County, was dangerously burned at her home here last night. The old lady, who on her next birthday will be 90 years of age, was sitting near an open grate, w hen her skirt caught fire and soon her body was one mass of flames. The lady was sitting alone In the room and had it not been for the timely interference of members of the family the unfortunate woman would have been cremated. As it was she was so badly burned that it may yet cause her death. The face and arms are badly burned and the victim is greatly suffering from nervous prostration and from the effects of the burns.

In 1900 Monterey County, California, Ann E. Nixon born July 1844 in Iowa , married 31 years but no spouse, with sons William E. Sept 1873 and James T.  Apr 1875, both born in California, and her father Ira Tucker May 1805 West Virginia.

In 1910 "Elwood" Nixon is in Salinas, with Tinsey, both 36.  Katherine is 5, and Elizabeth, 65 is living with them.

Ann Elizabeth Nixon is widowed in 1920 Salinas, living alone.

William E. Nixon is a ranch manager in Salinas in 1920, 46, married to Tinsey, 45.  They have Katherine 15 and James 5.

In 1930 Salinas, William and Tinsey.56 born in Missouri have James 15. 

James Allyn Nixon, born Jun 28, 1914, mother's maiden name Garren, died Oct 4, 1994 in Monterey County.

Shirley Corter Peakes of 74 Ross Circle, Oakland, married Katherine Nixon October 30, 1926 in Alameda County.  Her father was William E. Nixon, mother Tinsey Garren.  Shirley was the fire chief in Lafayette in 1949.

Katherine Nixon Peakes, born Aug 1, 1904 in California, mother's name Garrne, father Nixon, died May 3, 1997 in Contra Costa County.

Katherine Peakes is married to Shirley C. Peakes, a chemist in 1930 and 1940 California.  In 1940 Oakland they have William C. 6, and her pis parents Charles J. 60 and Eva 56 are with them.   William Charles Peakes, a 1954 U of California graduate, of Lafayette, California married Bonnie Waneve Wecker in Oakland in 1954.  Charles J. Peakes, husband of the late Eva Peakes, died June 1965 in Pleasant Hill, California.

Tinsey Garren Nixon 1874-1943 - born in Missouri, father Garren, mother Hodge (the findagrave middle name is misspelled) and William Elwood Nixon 1873-1934 are buried in Salinas.

James Taylor Nixon, of Monterey County, registered, born April 9, 1875, a fireman for an oil company, relative Pauline E. Nixon, same address.

1939 Santa Cruz "FORECLOSURE ASKED Complaint seeking judgment for $19,554.18 was filed yesterday by J. T. Nixon, Tinsey Nixon, Katherine N. Peakes and J. A. Nixon against Allan R. Tuttle and others. It is also for interest at 7 per cent compounded annually from March 1, 1929, and a further sum equal to five per cent of the principal and interest for attorney fees. Assignment of interest upon real and personal property is asked, and that it be foreclosed."

April 10, 1942 Santa Cruz "The body of James Taylor Nixon was taken to Salinas by White's mortuary Friday, where funeral services were held Friday after noon from Struve and La Porte's funeral parlors. The King City lodge of Masons, of which he was a member, conducted the services. Inurnment followed in the I. O O. F. crematory in Salinas."

Justin Taylor Nixon is a performer "a lovely tenor" in the Palo Alto Players (California)  in 2007.

 "Justin Taylor Nixon is an accomplished performer, composer and teacher located in Chicago, IL. Justin recently returned to Chicago after twelve years in the San Francisco Bay Area where he was last working as the choir/music director and liturgical coordinator at Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton.

Justin has an extensive performance career, having sung in various settings throughout Europe, China, and across the United States. He has served as voice teacher at two universities, and worked all along the west coast as musical director and vocal coach. His voice students have earned spots performing throughout the country in musical theater, on television, and in the pop music world. "

The 1868 directory of Doniphan County, Kansas has "Nixon, Joseph A. , farmer, res 3 m. s.e. of Troy on Pottawattamie Road, Center tp. "

and "Nixon, Taylor, mason, res Troy."

In 1870 Doniphan County, Kansas, Joseph A. "Mixon" is 43, Julietta 40, Alice 16, George 14, Joseph 11, and William A. 7.

In 1875 Doniphan County, J.A. 46 and Juliett 45 Nixon have G.B. 21, Joseph 15, William 12.

In 1880 J.A. Nixon, 52, is in Rooks County, Kansas, a saloon keeper, 52, married but no spouse listed.

His father Taylor Nixon, 63 and Lucetta 60 are in Doniphan County in 1880, a stone mason.  Lucetta died 1891, buried in Doniphan County # 27688734.

In 1880 Doniphan County, Kansas, Juliette Nixon is 54, married but no spouse, with George 25, a laborer, and William 18.

In 1900 Atchison County, Missouri, William Nixon born Feb 1863 in Kansas, is married 13 years to Maud Aug 1866 Ohio.  They have six kids, and his mother Julia Nixon, Feb 1826 in New York - but this Julia said she's only had one child.

In 1905 St Joseph, Missouri, Juliett (wid Joseph A), is living at 1417 S. 11th.)

Julia "Julyette" (Decker) Nixon, per # 127353027, died in Atchison County 1826-1909 - but no burial location.

William 1863-1948 is buried in Atchison County, Missouri, per 9476934.  William Alfred Nixon, born February 14, 1863, in Troy, Kansas, a retired metal worker, son of Joseph Nixon, died February 27, 1948 in Rock Port, Missouri.

Maude (Derry) Nixon died Nov 18, 1955 in Atchison County, widow of Wm. Nixon.

George Beach Nixon, a retired politician, widower of Ada Nixon, born Oct 22, 1878 to Joseph Nixon and Julia Decker, died Sept 11, 1934 in St. Joseph, to be interred in  Mt. Auburn.  Informant was Hubert Nixon.  # 63910673.

Martha Malinda Dunaway was born 15 April 1860, Galesburg, Jasper County, Iowa, per one tree.

One listing in the Millennium file says Joseph Alexander Nixon married Martha Malinda Dunaway.

He filed for an invalid pension June 30, 1880.

In 1885 Rooks County, Kansas, J.A. Nixon is 56, M.M 25, E.J. 3, A.L. nineteen months, and S. Beary 16.

In 1899 Martha A. Nixon was a witness for the claim of Marion E. Ashby - other witnesses were Geo W. Custer, William A. Davisson, and Charles D. Shields.

"A son of J.A. Nixon arrived from Wathena, Kas., a day late for the funeral.

Troy, Kansas "Joseph A. Nixon, aged 72 years, died at Wray, Colorado, last Thursday, November 16. Mr. Nixon was a pioneer in Doniphan county, having come to this county from Maryland. He had been a railroad engineer in the east, but was engaged in the saloon business during the greater part of the time that he lived in Troy. From Troy, Mr. Nixon went to Rooks county, in this state, where he lived for five or six years, most of the time in Stockton. He has four children, three sons and a daughter. George Nixon is employed in Textor Bros, grocery store in St. Joseph, Joseph A. Nixon, Jr., is living in Wathena, William Nixon is a resident of Rock Port, Mo., and the daughter is the wife of James K. Anderson, of Troy."

1899 Troy, Kansas  "Geo. Nixon was over from St. Joseph Sunday to attend the funeral of Guy N. Anderson. Mr. Nixon is a brother of Mrs. J. K. Anderson."

A "servant" Harry Nixon June 1887 Kansas is with the Claridge family in 1900 Glendale.

Martha proved up a quarter in 24, 3S 45W in 1901.

Martha M. Nixon filed for a widow's pension in 1900, and for a minor pension in 1904.

Martha M. Nixon  married William W. Malcolm Dec 28, 1903, recorded in Morgan County.

In 1910 Longmont, William W. and Martha M. Malcolm are both 50, with Helen, 5  Saxly is 24, an electrician, Jennie 19, Eva 16, Ida 13.  Albert Babbit, stepbrother-in-law, is 26, born in Missouri, with Lillian L. Babbit one month old, step granddaughter.

Wm. Wallace Malcolm and Martha M. Malcolm are in Grays Harbor, Washington in 1920, with Helen Madaline "Lilen", 15. Martha Malcom, age 92, died Jan 15, 1953 in Aberdeen, Washington.

In 1930 Grays Harbor, Raymond Babbitt is living with grandparents William W. and Martha M. "Malcom."

Wm Wallace Malcolm died Feb 10, 1943 in Grays Harbor.

Harvey Lewis Nixon registered in Yellowstone County, Montana, born Sept 4, 1883, farming, nearest relative Claudia R. Nixon of the same address.

Harvey, age 96, died in Aberdeen Washington, Sept 20, 1979.

Saxey Alexander Nixon registered in San Francisco, born Dec 4, 1885, an electrician for the Southern Pacific.  Nearest relative Mrs. Velma Nixon of the same address.

Saxey is in Portland, Oregon in 1940, married but no spouse, living alone. He registered for WWII in Washington state, born in Tin Mound (must be Twin Mound) , Kansas, with Mrs. M. Malcolm of Aberdeen Washington always knowing his address.

Eva M. Moore is married to Baxter A. Moore, 28, in Portland in 1920, with Earle B. 6, born in Oregon.  Eva died October 8, 1983 in Multnomah County, born Oct 15, 1893.

In 1920 Portland, Lillian E. Babbitte, 9, born in Colorado is a lodger in the C. Truman and Naomi L. Hale home.  Lillian was born in Colorado, and Raymond A. Babbitte 6 and Maxine A. Babbitte 5, both born in Oregon are also there.

Harrison Nixon is a telephone lineman in Gunnison Colorado in 1910, single, in a rooming house.

Harrison M. Nixon married Nora D. Harriman July 16, 1911, recorded in Huerfano County. She was the daughter of Charles 1861-1927 buried in Walsenburg 89010003 - so is Della 1868-1964.  In 1920 Silver City, New Mexico, Harrison born April 27, 1888 in Stockton, Kansas, has a wife and two children - he does telephone service.

In 1920 Contra Costa County, California, Harrison M. Nixon is an electrician, 31, born in Kansas, with Vera D. 27, Colorado,  Della M. and Delia E, both 6, Colorado, and Ramona F. 1, California.

Vera D. Nixon, 31, died Dec 24, 1923 in Alameda County, California.

One tree said Harrison Morton Nixon born April 27, 1888 at Stockton, Rooks County, Kansas, married Anna Helena Bruce September 15, 1926 in El Paso, Texas.

Harrison is in Salem, Oregon in 1930, now married to Anna H. 20, born in New Mexico.  Daughters Della M. and Dellia are 16, Ramona F. 11, born in Nevada, Bertha J. 9 California, and Mario A. four months Oregon.

In 1956 Bakersfield, California, Harrison M. (Helena A.) is a lineman for the SP CO.

Harrison died Oct 10, 1968 in Fresno County, California.

He was born in Stockton; Kan., and lived in Bakersfield  and California Hot Springs for 21 years before coming to Fresno County, six months ago.  Nixon worked for the railroad for 47 years before he retired in 195S. Survivors are his widow Mrs. Anna Helena Nixon; three sons, Thomas C. and George J both of Los Angeles, and Edwin B. of Union City; six daughters, Mrs. Delia Messenlehne and Mrs. Delia Doll, both of Fresno, Mrs. Ramona McClintick and Mrs. Mable Carrascd, both of Huntington Beach; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Moore of Portland, Ore., Mrs. .Helen BoVen of Aberdeen,. Wash., and Mrs. Elya. Howard of Escondido,  29  grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.  # 133109519

Della Martha (Nixon) Doll born April 23, 1913, married Carl F. Doll Nov 19, 1962 in Fresno County, died May 30, 1997 in Fresno County.

Delia Elizabeth (Nixon) Messenlehner, born April 23, 1913 in Colorado, died Jan 21, 1997 in Tulare County.

In 1940 Kern County, California Ramona McClintick is 21, married to Robert C. McClintick  -with Robert P. 2 and Dennis eight months.  Bertha Nixon, 18, is living with them.  Bertha and Ramona were  in Salem, Oregon in 1935.

In 1950 Bellflower, California, Robert is working at a gas station, and they live at 9328 Olive.

In 1959 Midland, Texas, Robert, a superintendent for Signal Oil and Gas and Ramona live at 2905 Douglas..  Bob, a construction worker, and Dennis, USA live at the same address.

SSDI has Ramona dying March 18, 2004, last residence McKinney, Texas.

Ramona Frances McClintick, a resident of Stockton, died there March 18, 2004. She was 86. Born Nov 7, 1918 in California.

A service will be at 1 p.m. today at Whitehurst Loyd Funeral Service in Porterville, with the Rev. Bo Webb of Faith Tabernacle Church in Porterville officiating. Interment will take place at Vandalia Cemetery in Porterville.

Mrs. McClintick was a native of Carlton, Nev., and a resident of Stockton for one year, previously of Springville. She was a foster mother for 10 years, raising dozens of teenage daughters. She formerly owned a beauty salon in Garden Grove, for more than 20 years. She also farmed in the agriculture area of California.

Survivors include three sons, Robert McClintick of Pomona, Gene McClintick of Strathmore and Dennis McClintick of Dallas, Texas; three daughters, Marilyn Miller of Denver, Colo., Susan Perry of Simi Valley and Cindy Thomas of Stockton; foster daughter, Sarah Xoasavanah; two brothers, Tommy Nixon of Southern California and George Nixon of Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Marian Nixon of Bakersfield; and 37 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McClintick was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert McClintick, in 1985; one brother; and four sisters.

Eva must have moved to Oregon with a sibling, because Baxter Moore didn't appear in Colorado census.

In 1920 Eva M. Moore, 26 and Baxter A. Moore, 28, are in Portland, Oregon.  Earle B. 6, was born in Oregon.

In 1900 Joseph Nixon, born July 1859 in Indiana, married eleven years to Susie born Aug 1868 Illinois.  They have Freddie July 1898 Kansas.

In 1910 Doniphan County, Joseph is 50, Susie 41, with Fred 20 and Russel 8.

Joseph, a blacksmith, "Susia" , Fredrick H. a laborer and Russel J. a machinist are in Doniphan County in 1920.

 Fred J. is in Iola Kansas in 1930, married to Effie M.

Fred is in Iola, Kansas in 1940, 52, married to Effie M. 57, both born in Kansas.

William and Maude are in Atchison County, Missouri in 1900, with Hellen, Ray, Mildred, Bessie, Marion , and a two month old son.

In 1910 Atchison, Missouri, William A. Nixon is a tinner, 46, born in Kansas, married 23 years to Maud, 43, Ohio.  They have .  They have Helenn 21, Mildred 18, Bessie 16, Marion 14, James 10, and Robert, 3.

William Alfred Nixon's death certificate says he was born at Troy Kansas Feb 4, 1863 to Joseph Nixon and Julia Decker, died Feb 28, 1949 in Rock Port.

William Alfred Nixon 1863-1948 is buried in Rock Port, Atchison County. # 9476934.  So is Willametta Maude (Derry) Nixon 1866-1955

  Mildred Mary Nixon Sept 26, 1891, married Ardery Albert Curfman, and they're buried in Atchison County, Missouri # 93116095.    Her stone says "dau. of Wm. D. & Ora D."

Ardery's father Amon Curfman established a hardware store in Tarkio in 1881, and Ardery took over the business,
