Grover Cleveland Willis and Maud M. (Miller) Willis,    Mildred

Elisha Moore Willis  1849-1920 and Francis Edwina (Hagan) Willis 1853-1940 are buried in Hughes Cemetery, Harrison County, Missouri.

In 1900 Lafayette County, Missouri, Grover, born January 1888 in Missouri, is with parents E.M. Willis January 1849 Missouri and Frances Sept 1853 Kentucky.  They've been married 28 years, five children still living.

In 1900  Harrison County, Missouri, Franklin Miller, born June 1853 in Indiana, is married 23 years to Martha A. Nov 1860 Iowa.  They have Lawrence L., Oct 1881 Missouri, Claude Feb 1886 Nebraska, and Maude M. April 1891 Kansas.

In 1910 Vernon precinct, Yuma County, Grover is 25, married five years to Mildred, 20 born in Kansas.  They have Lorna, 3, born in Iowa.

1912 "Mrs. Grover Willis of west of Vernon returned to Wray Monday from a trip to Iowa where she has been taking care of her mother."

Grover proved up 320 acres in 5, 3S 45W in 1913.

Grover Willis born January 25, 1885, farmer,  registered in Harrison County, nearest relative Maude Willis.

In 1920 Mercer County, Missouri, Grover is 34, married to Maud M. 29, with Lorena 12 Iowa and Lois M. 4 Missouri.

 In 1930 Idaho, Grover is 45, a laborer in canal construction, Maude 40, with Lois 15.

In 1940 Pasadena, California, Maude is 47, born in Kansas, married but no spouse, with Lois 25, Missouri, a stenographer.  They said they were in Bakersfield, California in 1935.

William Frederick Willis, son of Elisha M and Frances Hagan Willis, was born September 17, 1878 and passed away Dec 1, 1961, at the age of 83 years, two months, and 14 days.

Fred as he was known to all his friends, was born in Harrison County and spent his entire life in Harrison and Mercer Counties.

He is survived by one brother, Grover C Willis at Ohai (probably Ojai) , California, and a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Grover C. Willis, per 57357685, dying September 22, 1975 in Santa Barbara, California.  is buried in Jerome, Idaho 1885-1975, with no cemetery listed for Maude (Miller) Willis 1891-1970 # 57357712

A. Maude Willis 1892-1970 is buried in Independence, Missouri. # 59389148

Lorena married James Edward Coffin, died in Kansas City, Kansas 1907-1984, and is buried in Des Moines, Iowa  # 82015708

Arthur Coffin 18, of Leon Iowa, married Lorena Willis 16, of Pleasanton Iowa in July 1923.

James Edward Coffin was born December 26, 1924 in Leon Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Coffin.

In 1940 Arthur, 35, is an ice cream manufacturer in Des Moines, Iowa, married to Lorena 35, and they have James, 16.

1950 Hawarden Iowa "Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Coffin and two children and Miss Lois V'offman of Palo Alto. Calif., came  Monday to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Coffmnn. Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Potter of Hartley mot them in Omaha.


Maude's brother Lawrence C. Miller claimed land next to them, and died in 1916.

Maude's brother Claude Miller married Inez Graham (born Nov 10, 1889 in Iowa, daughter of Arastus G. Graham and Marrgate Newton( in Leon Iowa in 1908, and they are in  Akron, Washington County, Colorado, in 1920, 38, born in Nebraska, a railroad laborer, with Iniz U. 29, Iowa, Marele E. 12 Iowa, Arthur l. 11 Iowa, and Gertruid 9, Missouri.

Claude and Inez were in Mercer County Missouri in 1910, Decatur County Iowa in 1925, and Wyoming in 1930, so they moved around a bit.  Inez and her sister Alice Henderson were in Greybull Wyoming in 1935 and 1944 (brothers' obituaries).
