Gregory G. Bartscht, Idalia

In 1880 Shelby County, Illinois, Gregory is 15, sister Mary E. 13, with parents Charles W. 63 and Mary Bartscht, 52.

Gregory cash-claimed a quarter in 3, 4S 44W in 1890.

In 1900 he's back in Shelby County, born July 1864, with Mary E. Dec 1869 Illinois.  They've been married five years, with Grace Sept 1895, Fred October 1896, and Edward October 1899.

History of Shelbyville says "Farm Implements and Carriage Trimmer. -- G. Bartscht"

Gregory Giles Bartscht, a grain dealer, born July 13, 1864 in Shelby County Illinois, died November 4, 1917 in Normal, Illinois.  Father was Chas. W. Barscht of Germany, mother Mary Giles of Ohio.  He and Mary E. (Hubbart) Bartscht are buried in Ellsworth, McLean County, Illinois.  # 899767140.

1918 Grain and Farm Services:  "Ellsworth, Ill. - the elevator of the Ellsworth Grain Co., which was owned by G.G. Bartscht who died last fall, has been sold to Richardson & Lauritson - A. Dennis."


Elizabeth Bartscht died at the   Deacons hospital in Freeport   Monday after an illness of several   months.   Funeral service will be held at the Methodist church with burial in Daw  on cemetery. The body will be   nesday to her home in hour north. child and she had made her home hrown.i  Ellsworth. Mr. Bartscht was born Dec. 29 here ince. She Is survived by two brothers C. 1869 at Moccasin, 111. In 1894  she   married Gregory G. Bartscht who preceded her in death in 1917  ; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Frcitag of Normal; Miss Lina at laghnrn Hn .....   ildren survive; M  Kront at Il. horn Hprlng ........  One sister preceded her In  Olin Dennis, Freeport; C. Warren Gregory Bartscht, 85, Allen, Texas, formerly of Ellsworth, died Aug. 3, 2011, in Dallas, Texas. Service: 2 p.m. Sunday, memorial service at Warren Ellsworth Bartscht United Methodist Church, Ellsworth, with the Rev. Janice Ringenberg officiating. Inurnment: Dawson Cemetery, Ellsworth. Survivors: his daughter, Kelly Bartscht; one grandson; and a sister, Margaret Kirby.
