Former Rootbound correspondent Mona E. O'GORMAN (2506 Nottingham Place, Grand Prairie, TX 75050) placed a query in December about her great-grandparents, Ira Allen and Mary Ann (FOGARTY) STEADMAN who were residents of Newton County, MO. Ira had a brother, Amos STEADMAN, who also lived in Newton County.

Ira Allen STEADMAN is listed on the 1880 census of Newton County. Mrs. O'GORMAN believes that he had a brother named Amos who also lived in Newton County. The 1947 obituary for her grandfather, John B. BAILEY, lists Amos STEADMAN and mentions his two sons, Brose and Kirk. Are any of our Rootbound readers working an Ozark STEADMAN line?
