He appeared on the census of 20 July 1870 Henry Twp., Fulton, Indiana, in the household of George Washington page 32, occupation farmer, no real estate, personal property valued at $1,000, 2 children at home; John Ball lived next door.

Charles Packard Ball appeared on the census of 10 June 1880  Red Cloud, Webster, Nebraska, in the household of George Washington ;, occupation machine agent, 3 children.

 Charles Packard Ball married Emily Rebecca Ward, daughter of Benjamin Ward Census Charles Packard Ball appeared on the census of 4 June 1900 at Willow Grove Twp., Red Willow, Nebraska, ED 162, sheet 3B, occupation railroad , married 5 years, 1 child, 1 living.

 Emily Rebecca Ward was born in November 1872 at Louisville, Cass, Nebraska, d. 17 September 1954. She appeared on the census of 1880 Louisville, Cass, Nebraska, in the household of Benjamin Ward and Gillie (?), on 6 October 1895.  Charles in 1900 is in Willow Grove Twp, Red Willow County, Nebraska,  page 133a, occupation implement dealer, 4 children at home.  

Emily Rebecca Ward married Charles Packard Ball, on 6 October 1895 at Yuma, Yuma, Colorado He appeared on the census of 2 May 1910 at Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada ED 5, Sheet 9A, occupation drayman - city, married 15, years, 3 children at home." He appeared on the census of 15 January 1920 at  Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada ED 3, sheet 10A, occupation truckman-express transfer, owned home, 3 children at home.

He died on 12 December 1928 at Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada, at age 59.

In 1900 Denver is Fred G. Shaffer, June 1870 New York  Grace Shaffer June 1876 born in Nebraska.  Father Indiana, mother Virginia.  They’ve been married four years, and have Geniveve October 1897  and Reva March 1900 – girls born in Colorado.  Fred is a reporter.
In 1910 they’re in Rifle, Colorado, where Fred is a real estate agent.  They have Genevieve and Reva, but have added Ford, six.
In 1920 they’re in Yolo County, California, with Reva G. and FOrd G.
In 1930, still in Yolo County Genevieve is gone, but Ford has married Charlotte.  Fred and Ford are both realtors.
Grace is widowed in 1940 Yolo County.
California death index has Grace B. Shaffer born October 23, 1876 in Nebraska, dying July 10 1955 in Yolo.  Mother maiden name Lewis, father Ward.
Grace and Emily were on the same ship in 1935 –
1905  “Mrs. Berda Ward Ball of California visited one day this week with Yuma friends.”
