Ellen Rosa (Sullivan) and Albert J. Geis


In 1880 Seward County, Nebraska, Ellen Sullivan is 11, born in Ohio, with John C. 54 and Hanora 53 both born in Ireland, farming. Cornelius is 19, Jeremy 16, Patrick 14, Johanna 13, Ellen 11, Timothy 9, and Mary 7.

In 1885 Seward County, J.C. is 59, Hannah 58, Patrick 20, "Ella" 16, Timothy 13, and Mary 11. They have an Irish farm laborer, Paul Credon 18.

In 1910, Albert, along with brother-in-law Timothey Sulivan, was a witness to the land claim of Margaret A. Reilly for section 6, 1N 49W.

Albert proved up a quarter in 1N 50W in 1914. That's in central Washington County, Colorado.
He might be related to Louis Menke, who claimed land in Logan County, Colorado in 1900. Louis's niece married Clifford Geis of Beaver Crossing, Nebraska.

Wonder if her sister is Mary Sullivan of Denver, who began teaching school in October 1904 in the J.D. Gilispie district - near Idalia.."Miss Sullivan of Denver" who was a teacher in District No. y8 YUuma County, Idalia, . in March 1905.

June 1908 Wray "Mrs. Hanna Sullivan, T. J. Sullivan's mother, of Friend, Nebraska , is expected here today and will visit for a short time with her son and his family."

In 1910 Washington County, Albert and Ellen are farming, on the same page as her brother Timothy Sullivan and his family.

Albert is divorced in 1920 Denver, living alone....


1932 Lincoln, Nebraska A suit involving a foreign judgment of $25,000 which Mrs. Ella Rosa Geis obtained in 1929 in court at Denver when she was awarded a decree of divorce from Albert J. Gels and which she seeks to recover by filing an attachment on land in Seward county, was appealed to the supreme court Monday by George J. Geis. brother of the defendant. The land in Seward county attached was appraised at $80,000. The brother of the defendant alleged he had bought a half interest in a lot in Beaver Crossing but the district court dismissed his petition in intervention and he has appealed from that order of the lower court. Albert J, Geis, defendant. He is a non-resident now living in California and reported to have remarried.


Ellen is widowed in 1930 and 1940 Denver, no occupation.

She was in Denver in 1942 when her nephew was killed

She was able to attend her brother T.J.'s funeral in January 1948.


She died in 1948, and is buried in Yuma, # 49997183, in the same plot as her brother Timothy Sullivan and his family.

In 1930 Ontario California, "Elbert" is 46 – working for the Union Pacific, with Elizabeth M. 39 Oklahoma. Alberta is 6, Gloria G. newborn. So Albert remarried.

They were in Ontario, California in 1940, where Albert was a carpenter, and have Alberta F. 16 and Gloria G. 10.

Elizabeth M. Scholpp had married William O. Nunn on August 1, 1912 in El Paso County, Colorado, after living with her sister Minie in 1910 Denver.

Elizabeth Nunn and Albert J. Geis married in Boise, Idaho on March 16, 1923.
Albert Jacob Geis died May 11, 1942 in Los Angeles County. He was born January 1, 1883 in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska, to John Geis and Lena Harter. John Geis 1850-1926 is buried in Beaver Crossing # 45768461, with Mary Magdalina (Harter) Geis 1851-1923 # 45768502.
In 1949 Ontario, California, Eliz M. (Wdi A.J.) is a lemon grader, living at 248 N. 6th . Gloria Geis, a secretary for Karakul Fur Fram Enterprises, is aat the same address..

Elizabeth Martha Geis, born in Oklahoma Janaury 11, 1891, to father Scholpp and mother Glockler, died March 12, 1987 in Orange County, California.

Alberta Fae Geis, born Nov 1, 1923 in Long Beach, died May 16, 1990 in San Bernardino County.
Gloria G. Geis, 21, married Paul H. Williams, 27, in Los Angeles County on February 16, 1951.
She was born November 25, 1929, and died July 24, 2008.
