In 1880 Woodford County, Michael is 70, Katherine 63, Patrick25, and niece Anna Shay 22.
The 1880 schedule has him listed as blind.

In 1880 Minonk, Woodford County, Illinois, Dennis Shea is a farmer, 34 and Mary S. Shea, 27 born in Austria. John is 8, Joseph W. is 5, Daniel T. 3, and Charles F. one month.

October 1889 Yuma Colorado "Dennis Shea sold his saloon to Davis & Snider."

March 1899 Yuma "Dan and Frank Shea arrived in Yuma Thursday from Sterling and will assist their father, Denis Shea, with the spring work at the farm. The boys have many warm friends in and around Yuma, who will give them a hearty welcome."
June 1899 "Dennis Shea drove over to Atwood the first of the week."
"Denis Shea, who has been visiting his sons at Atwood, returned home last Saturday."

December 1899 "Denis Shea, one of our good-natured and popular stockmen, is visiting his brother, P. H. Shea of Narka, Kansas."

Denis cash-claimed a quarter in section 1, 2N 48W in 1891, and proved up one in section 13, in 1898.

Denis timber-claimed a quarter in section 32, 2N 46W in 1903 - about two miles west of Eckley.
April 1909 "April 1909 "Dennis Shea says the Pioneer want ad did the business. Mrs. and Mrs. Greenfield have accepted a position on his ranch."

In August 1917 a reunion of Yuma County pioneers was held in Denver "primarily in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick H. Shea of Fairbury, Nebraska, who were visiting their daughter, Mrs. Edward Lett of Denver. Mr. and Mrs. Shea wee among the pioneer settlers of Yuma, and it was at their suggestion that the first of the annual reunions was held."

Denis Shea 1846-1919 is buried in Yuma Colorado # 74272462, with a stone for Mary (Skersick) Shea 1853-1888 # 74284307.

Mrs. Catherine Shea, born at Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland, August 15, 1817, died September 23, 1909, at the residence of her youngest son, Patrick H. Shea, at Diller, Nebraska. She was married at the age of 18 to Michael Shea, who died in Yuma on April 18, 1888. She leaves three surviving sons, fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Services were held at Fairbury Catholic Church by Rev. J. J. Gary. Grandma Shea, who died a few days ago at Diller, Nebraska, was brought here Wednesday for burial. She lived to the ripe old age of 98 years.
Grandma was a resident of Yuma for many years, but for the past ten years has resided with her son, P. H. Shea, in Nebraska. She was a christian woman, loved by all who knew her, and the news of her death was as much of a shock to our people as it was to a near relative. The three sons, John Shea, of Alva, Okla., Dennis Shea, of Yuma, Colo., and Patrick H. Shea, of Diller, Neb., have the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of their dear old mother. Her remains were followed to their last resting place by a large procession of friends. Mr. Patrick Shea wishes to express his thanks to the many friends of his mother for their kindness in his hour of bereavement."

Her death certificate says she was the daughter of Jerry C. and Mary Conner, both born in Ireland.

Michael, dying 1888, is also buried in Yuma # 74272674.

September 24, 1909 Yuma "John Shea (This is a brother of Denis, not the Logan County John) of Fairbury accompanied the remains of his mother to Yuma.
Dan Shea was over from the river to attend the funeral of his grandmother."

John M. Shea, of Yuma, Colorado, 24, born at Rutland, Illinois, son of Dennis Shea and Mary A. Sherzie, married Mary Meagher, 24, of Omaha, born in Ireland to Jeremiah Meagher and Mary Malley. Witnesses were Dennis Maher of Gibson, Nebraska and Mary Ryan of Omaha.

July 11, 1913 Eckley "Carpenter C. S. Rutherford is doing the finishing work on Shea's pool hall while Shea is cutting his wheat."

January 1916 Eckley " A deal was concluded last Friday whereby Vincel Schrivner and A. E. Shea became the owners of the Neuschwanger garage."
"Art Shea and Yincel Schribner returned from Denver with their new Hupmobile."

May 1916 Eckley "An addition is being made to the A. E. Shea pool room which is to be used for a restaurant. Mrs. Frank Shroyer will be in charge."

January 1927 Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Silvius celebrated their golden wedding anniversay. Art Shea and family were among thos present.

September 1945 "Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Silvius of Glendale, California, cousins of Mrs. Art Shea, Mrs. Sidney Beach and Gerald Silvius, are visiting these relatives in the vicinity for a week or two. Mr. Silvius is a member of the police force of Hollywood."

June 1948 Mr. and Mrs. Art Shea were Sterling visitors Tuesday and brought Dan Shea home with them for a visit, and to recuperate from several weeks in the hospital.
