William P. and Mary Crosby, mother Harriet Crosby
March 26, 1915 Mrs. Harriet Crosby died at the home of her son, W. P. Crosby , 18 miles southwest of Yuma, Sunday, March 7th, at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 19 days. The funeral services were held Tuesday at the Methodist church, Rev. E. G. Ingraham officiating, and the body was laid to rest in the Yuma cemetery. Harriet DeBeck was born at Bangor, Maine, in 1837. In 1852 she was united in marriage to William Crosby, who preceded her to the better land in 1901. To the union were born five children four daughters and one son, W. P. Crosby. Three daughters survive her —Mrs. N. B. McPherson, of Kendallville, Indiana; Mrs. L. D. Holingsworth and Mrs. L. D. Kimpton, of Millard, Arkansas. She united with the Methodist church when a child, and lived a consistent Christian until her death, doing what she could to brighten and make happier the lives of those about her, remembering the words of Her Savior— In as much as ye have done it unto the least of these, ye have done it unto Me. Just a few days before her death she told her children she was ready to go at the Master's call .
