"Joseph A. Woodbury was one of the original Union Colonists. He come here in the spring of 1870. A contractor, he is credited with building nearly every new public structure in Greeley – including the new school – during those early days. He also built the house he lived in at 1124 7th St.
Woodbury was a council member for several years, Greeley’s first fire chief and served two terms as mayor of Greeley. He lived in the house until he died in 1913."
