July 1930 Kearney, Nebraska "James Simmerman, 50, of Proctor, Colo., died here Monday [28 Jul 1930] at the home of his brother, John Simmerman, 3024 Central Avenue. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon, at two-thirty, from the Crawford Funeral Home, with burial in the Kearney Cemetery. Mr Simmerman came to Kearney about two weeks ago. He was not in the best of health and took treatments here up to the time of his death yesterday. He is survived b y his wife and six children: Mrs. Esther Harrach, of Sterling, Colo., and Delbert, Clifford, Sidney, Vera and Wauneta, all of Proctor, Colo. Four brothers and two sisters also survive: George, of Crook, Colo., Otto of Wood River, Neb., and John and Charles, of Kearney; Mrs. Jane Bolt, of Dunning, Neb., and Mrs. Lucy Zimmerman, of Riverdale."

George Simmerman, 25, son of Alex and Elsie E. Simmerman, married Lillian E. Gentry in Pleasanton, Nebraska on April 5, 1899.
She was the daughter of C.J. and Cora B. Gentry, age 16, born in Nebraska.

In 1900 Buffalo County, Nebraska, George is a farmer, born February 1874 in Indiana, with Lillian E. Dec 1882 Nebraska His brother John born June 1877 in Indiana is with them.

In 1910 Nance County, Nebraska, George is operating a bowling alley, 35, with Lillian 27 and Hazel 8.

George cash-claimed a quarter in section 7, 10N 49W in 1915.

"Before a beautiful background formed with greenery, pastel colored flowers and lighted candles. Miss Bessie Lee Gowdy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Gowdy of this city, became the bride of Kenneth D. Simmerman of Pomona, Calif.
The nuptial vows were read at the Central Presbyterian Church yesterday at high noon with Dr. R. Thomsen, pastor of the church, officiating.
Preceding the impressive ceremony, Mrs. J. Francis Brown, church organist, played. She also accompanied Mrs. Fairmon Dee who sang the prenuptial solo.
Little Miss Gertrude Gowdy was the bride's only attendant. Mrs. A. W. AMick of Los Angeles, mother of the bridegroom, was dressed in navy blue lace with white accessories."

John Delos Simmerman was born October 13, 1939 in Los Angeles County, mother Gowdy.

Memorial services will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in Welsh Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Charmain HolohanCressy and the Rev. Robert Herrington officiating. Arrangements are by Malinow-Silverman Funeral Home.
Mr. Simmerman was born in Broken Bow, Neb., and graduated from Amarillo High School in Amarillo in 1932. He had been a resident of Los Angeles for almost 60 years.
Mr. Simmerman had been the manager of Malinow-Silverman Funeral Home for 40 years. He was a Mason for 40 years and a member of Welsh Presbyterian Church.
He married Bessie Lee Gowdy in 1938 in Amarillo.
Survivors include his wife; a son, John D. Simmerman of Denver; a daughter, Kenda Smith of San Diego; two granddaughters; and a great-grandson. "

San Diego, California "Bessie Lee Simmerman passed away on December 8, 2002. She was born on February 11, 1915 in Amarillo, Texas. She came to Los Angeles, California via honeymoon trip with her new husband, Kenneth Delos, in 1938. He preceded her in death in 1997. Together they shared a home in Los Angeles for almost 60 years. Bessie Lee moved to San Diego in 1998 to be close to her children. Bessie Lee was a beloved Los Angeles County employee from 1955 until 1975. She was known as grandmommie to her granddaughters, Dawn M. Harris and Sarah L. Stearns, and G.G. to her great-grandchildren, Jacob Delos, Cassidy Leandra, Skyler Fox, and Elena Rose, who live in Alaska.
She is also survived by her children, John Delos Simmerman, of Denver, Colorado, and Kenda Lee Smith and son-in-law, Dr. Philip Smith of San Diego, California. a She also has a sister, Trudy Buford in Amarillo, Texas, and a niece Theda Means in Kingfisher, Oklahoma."

HAZEL

Hazel Simmerman and Alva Correll had Theda Joyce Correll on July 10, 1919 in Sidney, Nebraska. She was Neeland in 1961 and Means in 1989.

In 1930 San Bernardino, California, Alvah B. Correll is a barber, 30, with Hazel 27, Theda J. 10, all three bonr in Nebraska. Louise is 6, born in California. His mother Clara B. 73 born in Illinois is with them.

Hazel, born June 18, 1901, died in Los Angeles County on January 13, 1942.

Alva 1897-1963 is buried in Fort Rosecrans # 3393882 "Nebraska Pvt HQ CO 2 BN - 922 Engineers WWII"

CLARENCE CORELL

Alva's father Clarence L. Corell 1862-1929 is buried in Sterling, Colorado # 54925220.
They had been in Butler County, Kansas in 1900 and in Loup County Nebraska in 1910, farming.
Clarence L. is 49, born in Indiana, married 28 years to Clara B. 50, with Pearl 15 and Gay A. 12 born in Nebraska, Cecile 9, and Forest 7 in Kansas.

Elsie Pearl Corell, 18, married A.L. "Cottrane" in Sterling, Colorado on December 21, 1913.

Theda is buried in Kingfisher, Oklahoma # 67447186, with Lester Ralph Neeland 1915-1979.
They had married in Yuma Arizona on July 22, 1939.

Lois Ide Correll was born January 11, 1924 in Huntington Park, California, name Chacon in 1948, Berg in 1954 (marrying William H. Berg on September 1, 1950 in Orange County, California), Camp in 1971, dying June 18, 1999.
