November 6, 1952 Brookshire, Texas " Graveside services were held Tuesday at the Magnolia Cemetery in Katy for Mrs. Bonnie Mansell Warden, 51, who died Monday, Nov v 3, in the hospital at Catulla, Texas. She was born December 8, 1901, at Waller, the daughter of attended school in Waller and moved with her parents to Katy in 1922. Her father died Dec. 8, 1940. On December 21, 1930, she was married to Shannon Warden. She moved with her husband to Cotulla in 1935 and had made that her home since. She was an active member of the Church of Christ, and had just taken part in a weeks revival in her church. Her hobby was helping underpriviliged Mexicans, espeecially children. She was interested in Home Demonstration work, and in being a good housewife. On Oct. 25, she and her husband returned from 2 weeks of hunting in Colorado. She leaves to mourn her death her mother, Mrs. Maggie Mansell, her husband, Shannon Warden, one sister, Mrs. Roy Beckendorff, four brothers, Willie A. Mansell, Dickinson, Texas; D. Lee Mansell and R. D. Mansell, Houston; and M. L. Mansell of Katy, nine nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10 a. m. in Cotulla and 4:30 at Katy. Pallbearers were Richard and Leland Beckendorff, Charles Cudd, Vernie Marshall, Billie Doriaha, and Roy Burnette. Rev. F. D. Dawson and Rev. Wm. Davis officiated at the graveside services. "

"Mr. Clark, known to some as "Kid Clark," came to Katy in the fall of 1895 with his father, R. B. Wilkinson, and sister Grace, who was seeking a more healthful climate than Iowa. In 1900, March 25, his mother and the rest of the family arrived to reside in the Katy community. Grace, the oldest child, died May 23, 1967, aged 94 years. Surviving members of the family of ten are Mrs. P. L. Hoyt, age 86, Leroy, age 81 and Clark, 80. The above picture of the Wilkinson family was taken in 1910. Mr. Shannon made the trip by train to attend the funeral of his, and Mrs. Wilkinson's, brother-in-law, M. Z. Green, 95, who passed away January 30 at Rocky Ford, Colorado. Mr. Shannon reported a speedy and comfortable journey."
